I see Violet sobbing, having listened to her emotional goodbye to her Aunt. I was close to tears myself, and I didn’t even know the woman! But as she moves away from the bed, I see she is full on sobbing once more and I can’t stop the urge to take her into my arms. I need to be there for her. It seemed to help before. Maybe that is the mate bond? It is supposed to help calm a mate when they are upset or angry…
I pull her into my arms again. “I got you, Vi” I whispered, feeling her sob against my chest.
I want to be there for this girl so badly. Want her to know who I am to her, so she knows she is no longer alone. But I can’t tell her.
