Sitting in front of my laptop, I was searching and looking thoroughly for something that would possibly connect Monique Elizabeth to Larra Reagan.
They looked alike with just very opposite personalities, but I couldn't be wrong. No matter how I wanted to tell myself that she wasn't Larra but I could really feel that Monique was hiding something and that she was somehow connected with my ex-fiancée. I could feel it!
Desperately, I kept on digging deeper and looked into various sites, hoping I could get and find what I was looking for. But to my disappointment, it took me hours and hours, and yet I hadn't found anything.
What I kept on seeing were profilers of Monique Elizabeth Alvarez—how she started and made it to her successful modeling career abroad, how she was living the dream of any other girl to be raised and grew up like a princess with all her family's luxury and wealth, and how she was being so rich because her father, who raised her alone after her mom died, gave her almost everything and even the world itself. There were many written blogs and articles about her, and how other people painted her as rich and unstoppable and how others envied her because she had almost everything.
I tried to connect Larra’s name to Monique Elizabeth in the search bar by searching their names together, but found literally nothing. There was never anything that Larra Reagan had anything to do with Eusebeo’s unica hija.
On the other hand, there were also very few posts about Larra. Basically, just very old articles when their family's business was still in its prime and she was still so young at that time. When she entered college and their business started to get bankrupted, nobody gave a d*mn on their family's name anymore. Tabloids and newspapers didn't feature them any longer because they gradually became infamous…
I ran my fingers to my hair and I ended up stopping, totally frustrated.
Alright. I might really just be wrong. There was no way in any hell that Monique could be Larra. And I must not forget that three years ago, I buried Larra’s dead body with my own hands, so it was just impossible that she could get back to life and live as a rich man’s daughter.
After that, I decided to leave it alone and put a stop to the thoughts in my mind. I still had other things to do and to think than just spending my hours finding and looking for things that I knew could never be answered because Eusebeo's daughter wasn't my ex-fiancée Larra. They might look alike, yes, but I couldn't find any proof and evidence that would directly say that they were just one person. Probably because they really were not.
Monique is Monique. Larra was Larra. There could be no way that Larra would be Monique because aside from their totally different personalities, it was so impossible that Larra would suddenly become the daughter of an old wealthy businessman.
I already kept it in mind and diverted my attention to more important things, but one day, when I unexpectedly saw Monique Elizabeth walking in the mall while I was also there because I just dropped by to buy something, I found myself silently following her…
Supposedly, I was gonna go to the exit and leave but since I saw her, it felt like she had a magnetic effect on my feet and I automatically walked in her direction, following her back without her needing to notice my presence…
She was walking as if she owned the world, the whole place, and she was displaying a high caliber of confidence, doing it so naturally, without even exerting too much effort to look one, because naturally and with just her oozing presence, she was a head turner herself.
I could see that every person she walked by gazed at her. Some men couldn't even help themselves from staring at her. She was such a beauty and I couldn't really blame them.
Her kind of walking with those naturally swaying hips and her hair following her every move was like she was walking in a fashion show on the runway. Yeah, anyway she's a pro model so I should not even be surprised with that kind of extravaganza poise and aura.
In the middle of her strolling, suddenly, it felt like she actually detected that somebody from behind her was following her and I panicked like an i***t so when she turned her back to see, I was so quick to hide so she wouldn't see me. F*ck. I didn't even know what the heck was happening to me and why I suddenly acted like a freaking creepy stalker!
When she made sure nobody was acting strange, she continued walking nonchalantly. I released a sigh and followed her again. I wanted to laugh at myself for doing such a crazy thing I had never done before. Hell yeah!
I got alarmed again when out of the blue, she stopped walking. She just stayed still but she didn't turn around in any direction, just stopping at her feet. I pretended to look for something in the bags section so when she would look around, she wouldn't suspect it was me…
I side-eyed her and saw that she was still there, not moving. I pretended to be busy with shopping. But to my surprise and disappointment, when I looked at her way, she was no longer there and she quickly disappeared like a bubble in the air.
Trying to look for her, I walked exactly to the place where I last saw her. I kept on roaming around my eyes to search for her but to no avail. Where did she go…
“Are you looking for me?”
I froze for a moment. She was standing at my back and her voice seemed so sure.
So, she knew…
“Why are you following me?” she asked again.
I sighed and composed myself before turning around to face her. I shouldn't be acting like an i***t in front of her.
A surprise reaction could be seen in her face as soon as she recognized me.
“Congressman Carlos!”
I didn't say anything.
“So, it was you!” She chuckled. “Why are you following me, anyway?”
I still didn't respond and I just kept looking in her eyes.
She thought for a moment and just a second later, she seemed to have formed a conclusion in her mind… “Wait, don't tell me that until now you're still mistaking me to be your ex-fiancée? What was her name again? Larra, right?”
I looked away.
“Oh, no! Don't tell me, I was correct and that was still the reason?!” Once again, she burst into laughter as if it was a big joke for her. “No, you must be kidding, right?”
She kept on laughing at me as if she was seeing me like a clown who kept her entertained.
“So, all this time, you were acting like a crazy stalker and you kept following me because you were really thinking I was that ex-lover of yours? Really?”
I glanced at her and there was amusement in her face. I didn't respond to any of her silly questions. I must admit she was right, I acted like an insane stalker, and yes, I shouldn't even have gone this far. My bad…
“Since you love following me, Congressman, I will allow you…”
I stared at her for what she just said.
“Come on, follow me.”
She started walking and I wasn't moving, just watching her. But when she knew I hadn't moved, she once again looked at me.
“Let’s go.”
I found myself following behind her.
She stopped in the baggage counter and claimed the big paperbags of the branded items she brought from several branded stores.
She walked to me and gave them to me. Before I could ask anything, I was already holding them because I had no choice. She already put everything into my hands!
“Follow me!”
I followed her until we reached her car in the parking lot.
She opened the car luggage area and that was the only time she handed the paperbags so she could put them there.
“Thank you so much, Congressman. You're such a gentleman!”
I wanted to smirk realizing that she actually made me her bodyguard to carry her stuff for her. What a b*tch!
She smiled and winked at me and waved her hand before she entered into the car and left me dumbfounded.
From what I saw today, I could literally conclude that she isn't really Larra. She's way, way different from Larra Reagan. While Larra wouldn't do what this woman did today, Monique, on the other hand, turns bolder and shameless as time goes by...
