I was about to run after Max when Knox gently grabbed my arm and stopped me.
“Please don’t leave.” He begged and the look in his eyes practically broke my heart.
I was worried about her but at the same time, I knew she was also a lone wolf. We preferred to be on our own and right now, that’s probably what she wanted.
I had an uneasy feeling in my stomach. I wish I knew more about her past. I didn’t miss the flash of fear in her eyes at the mention of Alpha Alec. The weird thing was, Betty and Tom had also mentioned that name before. I wondered if they knew each other before becoming rogues.
