Bear Cabin

Chapter 8

I looked up at the clock and saw it was now evening time. I took a two hour nap and it felt great. I wondered what woke me up when I heard knocking on the door. When I answered the door I was not expecting Sebastian to be there with a scowl on his face.

“Hello Sebastian. Can I help you with something?”

“Here I am to be in the butt in your passenger seat as you put it. I don’t understand why you couldn’t just eat dinner with my mom again but no you have to be little miss independent.” He growled as he pushed past me to sit on the couch.

“Nice to see you again. I am doing great. Please have a seat on the couch while I get ready.” I said sarcastically while I shut the door and sat down on the recliner.

“Sorry. I am in a crap mood after what happened to mom and you today. It never should of happened and I will be fixing it tomorrow.” Sebastian said as he put his head in his hands.

“It is going to be ok. I am just glad he didn’t go any farther then grabbing your moms wrist. I would of-“

“He what?” Sebastian interrupted me. “ He put his hands on my mom? She did not tell me that. Why would he do that? Did he put his hands on you?” He jumped to his feet and started pacing. Well s**t, I really stepped in it this time.

“I figured she told you. I don’t want you to be mad at her. She probably didn’t want any extra problems.”

“Get in the car. We are going to her cabin to talk before the store. She is going to tell me everything that happened.” He got up and held open the door for me.

“Oh, Okay. Lets go dad.” I said as I grabbed my jacket and purse to leave.

“Did you just call me dad? This is not the time to joke. You really don’t like to be told what to do?” He shut and locked the door behind us. I unlocked the car and started to walk to the drivers seat.

 "Ill drive if you don’t mind.  It helps settle my thoughts.” He held out his hand for the keys so I gave in. I don't mind being driven around.

I handed over the keys and just got into the passenger seat. We were at his moms house within minutes since she lived on site. I think all of them lived on site which makes it more convenient for them. As soon as we pulled up he was out the door and knocking on hers. I had to run to keep up and almost busted my ass. Thank goodness I caught myself since Sebastian had only one thing on his mind, his mom telling the full truth.

Sophia answered and you could tell she knew she had gotten caught. I walked past her and whispered “I am so sorry. I didn’t know” and offered her a hug. She told me it was ok while hugging me and then turned around to shut the door.

“Mother…” Sebastian started but A.J walked in at that moment.

“What are you guys doing here?” A.J asked as he pulled up a chair. He could read the tension in the air and decided to join us.

“Mother decided to leave out the part where Jeffrey put his hands on her,” Sebastian fumed.

“WHAT! Mother tell us everything now.” A.J jerked to his feet with a Death Stare set on his mother.

“Boys I am sorry I didn’t tell you everything. Let’s all sit down and Ill tell the full truth.” Sophia said as she sat on the recliner leaving only the couch for us. I was a bit apprehensive but with the look I got from both of them I just sat down quickly.

“I told you everything except the physical part. We were trying to leave and Jeffrey grabbed my wrist and twisted it. Heather grabbed his wrist and shoved him off. " Sophia exhaled like she had been holding her breath and looked over at me, "I never told you thank you for that."

“You don’t have to. He had no right to put his hands on you.” I told her and I noticed she wasn’t the only one looking at me. “Why are you all staring at me? It is kind of freaking me out. Sophia lets tell them the rest so I can go grocery shopping.”

“They are staring at you because no one has touched Jeffrey and been able to get away unharmed.” Sophia chuckled and shook her head.

“Mom are you sure you didn’t hit your head? How could she shove him away from you? Maybe he was already going to let go.” A.J exclaimed still staring at me.

“Are you saying I am a weak person A.J? I shoved his ass back in his seat and then when one of his goofy big ass guards started to pick your momma up I dropped his butt with a swift kick to the nutsack and a knee to his nose. Pretty sure I broke it and I would of went in on the other two but your mom pulled me out of there.” I stood up and my voice continually got louder. “Jeffrey is a big damn bully and he needs his ass handed to him. He is lucky all his got was my sass and a shove.” I was in A.J’s personal space at this point and he was looking at me with uneasy eyes.

“Heather he didn’t mean it like that I promise. Take a deep breath.” Sophia said softly as she came up to me and directed me back to the couch.

“Are you saying you shoved Jeffrey back in his seat, and you kicked one of his top members in the nutsack?” Sebastian finally spoke. He had the beginnings of a smile on his face staring at me.

“Damn straight I did and I told him he was a little boy for putting his hands on your momma.” I said as I relaxed on the couch. “They ruined a perfectly good meal that I didn’t even get to finish so they started out on the wrong foot.” I had a bit of a pout going on and all of a sudden a heard a big laugh. It was coming from Sebastian.

“I think I love you. No one has pulled anything like that and walked away. I know he will be wanting pay back but I won’t let that happen to a feisty thing like you.” He kept laughing and soon everyone joined in. It was a nice relief from the days stress and drama. “You don’t take orders well and you don’t back down. Where did you learn to fight?”

“I am a mother of two and I have fought for everything we have. I fight dirty and through the years I have learned a bit of technique. I don’t care what happens to me but I am very defensive of the people I care about. You mom has been so nice to me and has helped me understand a lot in just two days. I consider her a friend and would fight for her.” I stared over at Sophia. “Also I never got her lasagna recipe so I had to do what I had to do!”

“ Well thanks. I will make sure to hand you that recipe as you get on your plane to insure my safety while your here. You should of heard the things she said to and about Jeffrey. If it hadn’t been a stressful situation I would of died from laughter.” Sophia stood up and looked at both her sons. “Now that I have told you the whole truth is everything ok between us? If it is Sebastian you need to take Heather to the store since they close in two hours and A.J you need to do a wood run from the cabins.”

“We are great Mom. Are you ready Heather?” Sebastian stood and gave me his hand to help me stand up.

“Yup I am ready. “ I replied. I gave Sophia another hug and walked to the car.
