Chapter 2

1004 Words
I finally found a good place to sit down to eat and relax that didn’t have a long line. I was seated fairly quickly at a table and ordered a sweet tea while I looked over the menu. I was deciding between just ordering an appetizer or ordering a burger with fries when I heard a loud crash. I looked over and saw the same man I ran into just a little bit ago run into a server carrying a tray of food. He still looked just as angry but was actually nice to the server. I was in shock and had my mouth hanging open, listening in on the conversation with he looked over at me. He instantly went on the defense by glaring at me while he headed toward me. Most likely to b***h about something to me. I knew this was not going to go over well and started to rethink if I was hungry. “So not only are you a girl who can’t do two things at once you’re also a nosy person,” He asked with his arms crossed and his back straight to make him seem even taller then his 6’ frame already showed. It instantly rubbed me the wrong way, so I looked over at him with my mouth in a sarcastic smile and my eyes burning with rage. “I’m sorry. Did I sit down in the Asshat section of the restaurant? Would you like your seat back?” I asked him while putting some money on the table to pay for my drink and a tip. I started to get out of my chair when he cracked a smile while looking at the ground. “Did you just call me an Asshat? Seriously how old are you? 14?” He said as he chuckled a tiny bit. “I am sorry I was being an Asshat to you even though I am not even sure if that’s a real thing. It just hasn’t been my day but things are starting to look up.” “I am sorry you’re having a bad day. Asshat is a real thing and if you look it up in the dictionary, I bet it even has a picture of you.” I replied starting to smile at him. I am glad it did not end up in a shouting match. I still have some anger going on after everything that happened during the divorce and what happened in the marriage. Men can be a big pain in the ass most of the time and they call us the confusing ones. “Your funny. Do you mind if I join you for lunch? It seems all the seats have been taken while I was having my hissy fit.” He asked as he looked around to double check there were no seats. He looked back at me with puppy dog eyes and his bottom lip stuck out. He looked just like my son does when he wants something really bad and knows I will most likely say no. I made a show of grabbing my money and putting it back in my purse. “That’s fine. Just make sure if you feel another fit coming on you let me know. I have training in that field with my two children. I have an extra sucker in my purse and an army man.” I smiled as I said this remembering just yesterday with my almost 3 year old daughter and her melt down when her teddy bear couldn’t go for a ride in the microwave. When I tried to explain the real reason why it went downhill fast so I let her know that the microwave wasn’t safe with the dragon guarding it at all times and any trespassers would be cooked on site. It seemed to work for now and I am ok with that. He laughed and said his name was Andrew and he was on a business trip headed to Colorado as well. He seemed nice enough so the next hour went by quickly with our conversation and delicious lunch. In that hour he asked for my number so that maybe we could hang out this next week since we will be so close but I declined. I had enough drama from men to last me a life time. I think I hurt his feelings and made him a bit angry because his eyes turned a darker color. I didn’t think much of it because of how bright the lights were at the restaurant. I looked at my watch and noticed we would be boarding in 15 minutes. “ Oh gosh I have to run. My plane starts boarding in 15 minutes and I don’t want to have to squeeze into a seat. Thanks for the great conversation,” I said as I put cash on the table for my portion of the bill and a tip. I grabbed my bag and purse when Andrew put his hand on my arm. “I really would like your number so I can get in touch with you. Even if it is for a quick lunch or dinner. “He pushed as he looked at me continuing to hold onto my arm. I pulled my arm from his grasp and looked at him annoyingly. “Listen we had a great time today and I am glad you enjoyed it as well. I just got out of a relationship and I am taking this trip to focus on me. I hope you have a great business trip and a safe flight. Good-Bye.” I walked away with my things thinking what kind of person can’t take the hint. How many times must a girl say no and then to grab my wrist. How rude! I looked at my watch again and saw I had 5 minutes, so I ran the rest of the way to my gate.
