Chapter SixTara went into the breakfast room to find that there was nobody present. She was just helping herself from a dish of white fish fresh from the sea when Talbot came in. He had two dogs at his heels and they were wagging their tails furiously. Looking round, Tara smiled at him. Yesterday he had discovered to his surprise that his grandfather’s dogs had been cruelly shut up in kennels ever since he had died. When he had released them, they were so thrilled to be free that they then followed him everywhere.
