Chapter 32 : Don’t go there!*

Raoul walked into the study and was surprised to see Dion there with King Stephan. Raoul thought that he was just updating the King on his Spy investigation.
“Why do I feel like I am about to be ambushed?” Raoul said suspiciously.
“Oh, don’t feel like that Roa, we are all friends here. I hear Kitten is awake, that is such joyful news!“ Stephan said and motioned for them to sit in the soft comfortable chairs. Refreshments had already been put on the table. King Stephan poured everyone some grape juice and handed it to them. “Well Gentlemen, the Summer Ball..was interesting..it could have been a blood bath. Thule was trying to show our allies that we were weak so that they would desert us. Instead, the opposite has happened, our allies are looking to strengthen their ties. They see now, how we can deal with powerful Chaos forces and want in on the action. We know this is mostly down to one person.”
“Jamie!“ Dion said nodding.
“Jamie!” the King agreed. “Tales of how a mere servant girl can control all four elements has spread to the four corners of the realm.”
“Are you surprised? She trapped seven Werebears, destroyed a plague mist and was able to detect a chaotic assassin. That is just her Elemental side!” Dion exclaimed.
“What do you mean?” Stephan asked.
“She has wild magic too!“ Dion said gleefully.
“Wild Magic? You mean...“ Stephan said with his eyebrows raised.
“Yes, she can communicate with animals and has a very strong affinity with them. She admitted to me as much at the ball”
“Which animals does she have an affinity with? We know she has dogs, cats and horses. What other animals does she have an affinity with?” Stephan asked.
“Steph you misunderstood what I am saying. She has an affinity with ALL animals, everything from mice to bears. I mean she is constantly followed around by a dog and a cat. Though if they are normal I will eat my robe!” Dion commented.
Steph gave a low whistle, the potential could be enormous. Every mouse and bird could become a spy, every dog a warning system and training animals could happen in days not years!
“That is how she stopped Black Winter and scolded him like a naughty puppy!“ Raoul said.
Steph chuckled and said, “Well, we need to decide what we are going to do next!”
“What do you mean?” Raoul said as his eyes narrowed.
“Well, I am not going to lie, many countries have offered me a substantial amount for Kitten...” King Stephen said.
Suddenly, the sound of a cup breaking happened as Roal crushed his cup in his hand. “Hold on a minute, you want to sell my Mate?” Raoul roared.
“Oh, Raoul stop been dramatic, of course not! Slavery has been banned in Riverwell for years and I don’t need to make enemies of the largest Wolf Pack in the Realm!”
“Stop teasing him, Stephan. Raoul, it never crossed his mind, Jamie is your fated Mate!” Dion said calmly.
Raoul growled and relaxed “so what do you mean then?”
“Jamie can no longer be a palace servant,” Dion said firmly.
“Well, that is obvious. Jamie is my Luna for a start!” Raoul reminded everyone forcefully.
“She is too valuable to just do that role. We want to train her.” Steph said firmly.
“We?“ Raoul questioned.
“Dion proposes to train her in her use of magic.“ Steph said simply.
“Does he now?“ retorted Raoul. The thought of his Mate spending time with another man did not appeal at all to him. Especially, when he was nowhere completing the bonding process.
Stephan ignored Raoul’s pedantic retort, and continued, “I also want her to train in the Elemental Guard. We need her skills to strengthen the unit. We all know that war is coming and we need to prepare!”
Raoul sighed he knew it was true and it would be selfish to keep her from reaching her full potential. Raoul knew Jamie enough to know she would want to help protect her home. Still, he was a wolf, an Alpha at that. He wanted to complete the mating bond so that every male knew that she was completely off the market.
“I think Jamie will agree, but I would like her to start in four weeks so I have time to complete ...” Raoul did not finish the sentence.
“The Mating Bond? What happens if she rejects you? I heard things did not have the best of starts.” Dion said. He was well aware of how male werewolves could be with their Mates!
“Let me worry about that!“ Raoul snapped.
Stephan mentally rolled his eyes, Dion was the most powerful Mage in the realm but he has the people skills of a rock being thrown at someone’s head. “ Four weeks is too long to wait, I will give you two. You are not inexperienced in getting ladies into your bed!” King Stephan.
Dion smirked as Raoul growled and said, “Fine, but I will have tomorrow off!
“Agreed!” Steph said as Raoul got up.
“Is there anything else Steph because I have an engagement elsewhere,” Raoul said firmly.
“Hang on, can you please give this to Jamie now she is awake”. Dion said handing Raoul a silver stick.
“I am not going to give my Mate a present from another man!” Raoul said through gritted teeth.
“It is hers anyway, I am just returning it to her” Dion said sternly “I can hold on to it and give it to her next I visit..”
Raoul took it from him and cursed under his breath. He then walked out of the study. “I won’t go there if I were you! “ Stephan warned Dion.
“I don’t know what you mean, “ Dion said.
“Come on now it is obvious, you like Kitten. But he won’t share her with you” King Stephan said.
“I assure you my interest is purely academic,” said Dion.
