Chapter 38: The King’s Visit*

One Week later: Wolf Moon Pack House (Raoul’s and Jamie’s Home)

“It’s been a week, Sam! Her lady parts must be completely anilhilated by now. I mean, nobody has seen them at all! We don’t even know if he has completed the mating bond with her yet!"  Thorne complained. Sam spat out some of his tea and coughed.

“If I did not know better, I would have said you miss our Luna at the kennels.” Bella made a joke.The three of them were sat round the kitchen table having a rare tea break. 

"Dam right! Rumors say the King is starting to miss Raoul as well, "grumped Thorne. 

Bella smiled. It was all true, of course. The Alpha’s room was, of course, soundproofed, but everyone knew they were going at it like rabbits. Very, very horny rabbits. 

Bella did not tell Sam or Thorne what she saw when she went into the Alpha’s room. The bed was completely broken and so was the bath tub, obviously from obvious over exertion. But what made Bella really smile was what she saw in the middle of the room. Raoul was sitting with Jamie in his lap. She had wrapped a white sheet round her, but her shoulders and neck were bare. Both Jamie and Raoul were clearly displaying their mate marks. They were laughing  and kissing each other so much they did not notice someone had walked in. 

"Excuse me, Alpha and Luna, I brought some food and drink," Bella said softly. They both suddenly looked at her. Jamie blushed and Raoul growled softly. "I am sorry... I just..." Bella said quickly. Everyone had heard of newly mated alphas being overly protective of their new Lunas.

"Oh, ignore the big i***t Bella!" Jamie said, playfully smacking Raoul on the chest, "It is really thoughtful, Bella. Thank you."

"I apologise to Bella, I do not know what just came over me," Raoul said, embarrassed.

"Please my Lord, do not apologise. I know that newly mated wolves are very protective over their mates. May the Moon Goddess bless your union, is all I have to say.The pack will be beyond thrilled. " Bella explained.

Jamie blushed again. "Er, thank you Bella. Would you mind keeping it quiet about it? We would like to make an official announcement soon, " Raoul said. Which translates to: we want as much time together as we can before the craziness hits. Bella had understood. She excused herself and left the room to the sound of giggling and kissing. She had never seen Raoul so happy.

“Did you hear what I said, Bella? Thorne said, bringing Bella back to the present time. " I said even the groundskeeper is even complaining because of the amount of extra work. They are having to cut the grass at least once a day!" Thorne grumped.

"Well, he is a powerful Alpha. He is going to stake his claim," Sam remakes.

I think it is more than that. I think they truly love each other." Bella said, "I just hope nothing ruins it."

Later that day.

Jamie suddenly woke up very hungry and thirsty. She could not remember the last time she had eaten something. She noticed that it was night time outside and looked at the clock. It was 3am. Jamie looked at her sleeping mate. It had been the best week of her existence. However, she knew it could not last forever. They both had responsibilities. "There is no point in worrying about that now," she thought.

 Jamie’s stomach growled loudly. She carefully untangled herself and got up from the mattress they had to put on the floor, since they broke the bed. She tipped her toes over to a robe that was hanging on the wardrobe. She quickly put it on and went out the door. She softly closed it and made her way down to the kitchen.

Like all werewolf kitchens, it was well stocked. Jamie went into the walk in pantry and grabbed some bread and cheese. Jamie walked out and was getting a plate when she heard a voice, "So Dion, this is the famous kitten that has Raoul acting like a puppy."

Jamie quickly called her fire elements and was getting ready to make it into a fireball. She turned round and was about to throw one when she saw Dion at the kitchen table next to another man. "Dear God, Dion I could have fried the crap out of you!" Jamie snapped. She let her fire element disperse.

"I'm sorry we scared you, Jamie," Dion said, "but may I introduce his King Steph?" Jamie stood still in shock. The most powerful man in the realm was sitting at her kitchen table. She was dressed in a robe with the worst case of bed hair she ever had. 

Jamie tried to do a courtesy and say, "Your Royal Highness, welcome to this home. I apologise for my appearance, and I will go and wake up Lord Roaul for you.“

“Actually, we are here to see you," said King Stephan in a kind voice, "and please don’t worry about your appearance. I have been rude by visiting you like this." He then motioned for her to sit down. Jamie looked longingly at the cheese and bread. "You can bring them here if you want," King Stephen said with a chuckle.

Jamie grabbed the food and walked over to the table. She took a seat and cut some bread and cheese. "Would you like any?" She asked politely. Both Dion and King Stephan said no thanks. After a few mouthfuls, she asked, "Can I ask why you two are here?"

"Well, first congratulations on your union with Raoul," King Stephan said, staring briefly at her large mate mark. "I know the Wolf Moon pack is thrilled to have you as their Luna!"

Jamie mentally rolled her eyes. She knew what this was. It was a s**t sandwich, or at least that is what Bella called it. They start off with something nice, give you some horrible crap in the middle and then finish off with something nice. Jamie sighed, "I thank you for your compliments. My King, but can we please cut to the chase? It is very late. "

Dion chuckled and said, "I told you she was perceptive."

Actually, there are a couple of things.First, I apologize. It is a personal question. I must ask who your parents are.

“Why?” Jamie asked, surprised.

“Well, you hold certain gifts that would be of great use to the realm. If there are any other family members, then it would be good to know. " King Stephan elaborated.

"Sorry to disappoint you, my King, but I am a foundling. My dad found me in the woods under some jasmine. Hence my name. Jamie is actually my family's Nick name. I only found out after they passed." Jamie said defensively, tears starting to form in her eyes. Aunt Judith had screamed it at her after an argument.

"He did not mean to upset you, Kitten!" Dion said softly.

"I am truly sorry, but I had to ask," King Stephan said, embarrassed.

“What is the next thing?” Jamie said she was trying to get hold of her emotions.

“To be honest, we need Raoul back in court. He has some duties which only he can do. " King Stephan said.

What do you mean that only a Royal Spy Master can do? " Jamie said,

“Yes, things are happening that need to be kept an eye on." King Stephan said carefully.

“Do you mean the rising forces on the Thule border, and do you believe they have anything to do with Chaos? You are right, my King, they are deeply involved, " Jamie said in a tired tone.

"How do you know that?" So said the King, shocked.

"My Mate may be the King's Spy Master, but I have my own sources," Jamie explained.

“You mean the Gods and a high demon or two?" Dion said, casually.

It was Jamie’s turn to be shocked. "I don’t know what you mean."

"Come on Jamie, you are a terrible liar. You go to the Realm of the Gods when you black out!” snapped Dion.

Jamie sighed. There was no point in playing anymore games. "The Elemental Forest actually, but I am guessing all people with elemental magic do when they pass out, right?"

There was a moment of stunned scilence. "You actually met the Elemental Gods?" whispered King Stephen.

You mean Hakan, Terran, Nerida and Alizeh? Yes, but I thought everyone with my kind of magic did!" Jamie said, slightly confused.

"She is on first-name terms with the Elemental Gods and she thinks this is normal! Sweet Chaos!" King Stephan whispered something else.

"No Kitten it is very, very far from normal. Have you met any Gods? " Dion asked carefully.

Anxitey started to well up inside her. Would they think her a freak if they knew? Would Raoul reject her?

Dion said, "Kitten? Please, we need to know what is going on."

Panic set in; she knew this happiness could not last. She closed her eyes to try and control the waves of anxitey, but she could not. Her breathing got faster and faster. The fear of rejection and being alone again consumed her. She felt like a black hole was opening up. Elsie’s and Raoul’s mother was right. She was not good enough and was a burden. Even Blackthorn had said she was not normal. She was a foundling who had no idea about her parents. Everything was coming toppling down. Who would want her?

"Dion, she is having a panic attack!" Then King Stephan shouted. Dion rushed over and tried to calm her down? Dion tried to sooth her, but Jamie was not listening. Her elements had sensed her emotion and had joined her. 

"Friend of Terran, what is wrong?" Earth spoke up.

"Friend of Nerida, are you hurt?" The element water.

"We must protect our friend Alizeh," instructed Air.

"We must burn them all!" said Fire.

"We must drown them!" said the water.

"We must crush them!" said Earth.

"We must suffocate them!" said Air.

"We will protect!" exclaimed the elements in unison.

"No, no no!" yelled Jamie in her head. The ground started to shake.

"Jamie, the elements are trying to protect you! You must calm down!" Dion shouted over the noise. 

"What the f*****g chaos is going on?" Raoul yelled through his mind link to Jamie. "Jamie, where are you? Tell me now!"

She could not answer. She could hardly breath at this point. She thought her heart would explode because it was going so fast. She suddenly heard the kitchen door swing open and Raoul’s arms around her. She tried to struggle out of them but failed. Raoul held her against his chest, "Kitten, just breath with me, in and out. Slow it down, in and out... that's what you're doing so well." Raoul said soothingly.

"Her Mate, her mate is here! She is protected! " The elements said in unison. 

"Yes my friends, she is protected. You can go now and thank you,” Raoul said, allowing it without thinking.

The shaking stopped and Jamie’s breathing returned to normal. She then started to sob uncontrollably. "I am so sorry," she kept repeating. Raoul’s heart felt like it was breaking.

"You have the Moon Goddess Bond!" Dion said, eyes wide in shock.

"The what?" King Stephan said, but Raoul ignored him. 

"What the chaos are you doing in my kitchen and why is my mate so upset?" Raoul said angrily, his eyes amber.
