At first all he could see was darkness. He had delved deeper and deeper into his own mind, following the instructions to the letter and the moment he arrived, all he could see and sense was just pure unadulterated darkness. He nearly panicked in his confusion before he felt the uncanny connection. It was as if the darkness was a part of him which immediately lowered his guard prompting him to look around. He had instinctively realized that in here, nothing would ever attempt to hurt him and that this was just part of the process he had to figure out slowly but surely.
So in a bid of anticipation and fervor, he curiously looked around a little eager to witness his own soul altar. He walked a few steps causing the dark blanket beneath him to ripple, sending dark waves into the void of darkness.
It seemed he walked for a while before a light suddenly materialized in the horizon. He didn't even hesitate as he took large strides all the while glad that there was finally some change. He felt that beyond the light may lay clues that could answer many of the questions he had carried ever since he had been reborn.
The light suddenly zoomed like a shooting star swallowing Lukas and catching him by surprise. Screeching to a halt, shielding his non-existent eyes he mentally felt a shift in his senses the moment he arrived. Lowering his hands and then looking around, what he saw was enough to stun him to silence.
It was an expanse of clouds, the sky and the mirror-like floor. It seemed endless, majestic, and heavenly that for a moment Lukas felt like he had arrived in another world filled with nostalgic silence, infinite peace and the slowly ever-changing clouds under the perfect blue sky. Lukas felt so familiar and at peace that his eyes were filled with his wonder like excitement as he looked around, drinking it all in.
But then an extremely shocking scene occurred to him. His expanse was fully halved into two sides. Half of it was bright like day, and it illuminated that part of the world. He could see the clear blue sky, the golden tinged clouds and even the perfect reflection on the rippling blanket under his feet. But the other half of it was like eternal night, lit only under the silver light. The once perfect sky was now littered with faraway twinkling stars with a silver river that meandered and shone through the pale clouds. It was almost as if day and night existed all at once and all at the same time.
He almost couldn't believe that this was his Soul Altar.
He had never expected such an impossible scene, his mind fluttering on either sides of day and night and his legs walking directly above the line of demarcation. What did it mean he didn't know and maybe if he explored further he might understand exactly what's happening here.
It didn't take for him to arrive at what seemed to be the horizon of the endless expanse. There, perched on the very line that connected the Sky and its mirror he saw three figures that radiated such might, ancientness and subtle authority that it took a while for his eyes to adjust and make sense of what he was really seeing.
But what surprised him the most was that all of the figures seemed to be still and alive at the same time. All of them were huge, almost covering the very sky the clouds were floating in. with one particular statue in the middle that stood over the rest like a God, radiating such pressure and authority that made Lukas feel puny and weak. The grand presence was so strong that it eclipsed Lukas's common sense, dazing him into a silent silence that took a long while for him to snap back.
