After he felt he had enough mana, Lukas stilled his mind before he made a collection of few hand signs while mutterings invocations under his breath. He quickly got under the wonderful sense of being connected to his elemental light and using the visualization technique he had already mastered within a few months of intense training, his whole body shone with a soft radiance that exuded warmth and comfort.
His hands slow and in a mesmerizing cadence it immediately pulled Geoff's attention. He watched dazed as Lukas's hands gracefully moved and it didn't take long for something to materialize. A light source formed from his cupped palms and the moment he opened his eyes, he lowered his hands, almost as if he possessed something delicate and fragile.
Geoff curiously looked and at first he thought he saw an ethereal flower, made of motes of lights that swirled in the air in a captivating manner. It floated on Lukas's hand under a soft white light, tugging at his mind as he couldn't help but stare it in wonder.
"What is that?" he asked.
Lukas smiled as he slowly brought it near for a clear view.
"It is a Wisp of Light, a Tier 2 Support Spell." he said and then Geoff sharply breathed. It was a given rule that Mortal mages can only master Tier 1 Spells with simpler Tier 2 spells only when they are at late or peak stage. Tier 2 spells were more advanced than Tier 1 Spells hence the reason why only Earth ranked mages can fully grasp them. Even then the only condition Mortal ranked Mages can gain mastery of the Tier 2 spells is if their elemental comprehension abilities are superior and their mana ran deeper than other mages of the same rank. Which meant for Lukas to be able to cast a Tier 2 Spell, even a support spell at that meant his ability to understand and grasp underlying concepts was way more powerful than what his own cultivation stage allowed.
Lukas explained further. "This spell is useless during battle as it is very hard to cast and without a strong sense of control it can easily be disrupted but once formed it holds 3 inherent aspects to its power."
And Geoff could clearly tell, since the seemingly delicate wisp had 3 feathery leaves to it that slowly danced and twirled under the still air.
One of Lukas's hands detached and then lightly flicked 1st fluffy protrusion that came from the wisp. Immediately the air seemed to be pure and filled a certain subtle fragrance. The smell of burnt flesh and the stench of the underground hall made worse by the stains of the dead rats seemed almost impervious in the air where the light wisp covered.
Surprised by the sudden change Mira opened her eyes and then took a deep breath in wonder. Looking around she saw a wisp and her inner childishness showed itself.
"Wow it's beautiful" she angled for a closer look. Lukas smiled before he flicked his finger on the 2nd feather that tinged the surrounding light in a low haze of a white golden light. Lowering his left hand even further, his right hand helped remove the dented armor from Geoff's chest delicately. For a moment their eyes crossed as his hand settled on him. Lukas quickly shifted his eyes with his breath quickening while Geoff settled on an amused face. Looking at the muscles that made his chest, he randomly thought to himself at how many people in his old world would kill to have a body like his, his face half smiling at his inner joke.
Before any other erratic thoughts passed through his brain, he floated the wisp over the bare chest, letting the white golden radiance shine over him and into his body.
"This wisp focuses on Healing. It also works with the 1st wisp in purifying the poisons from your body though it's severely limited. Only simple poisons can be cured… the high tier ones can either be temporarily suppressed for a while or limit their spreading. Too strong than that and it would be useless."
Mira marveled "Then aren't we lucky we are underground then. I don't think these rats possess a strong poison after all."
"Don't underestimate them. We were lucky we had Geoff to take that entire wrath from us. Their poison might not be formidable but it would have proved more than troublesome if we were the ones infected."
"I will be fine…" Geoff assured Mira.
"But now you are definitely not as this Wisp will help you recover most of your wounds. Coupled with the last," he flicked it also "then you can be well on your feet within 8 minutes at most. This one's function is recovery. It helped attracts ambient mana from the air and stimulates all your muscles to provide strength for the body."
Hearing that; Mira immediately scooted near and then meditated as more of mana congregated around them. Following her lead, Geoff completely relaxed, letting the white golden radiance fall into his body, visibly healing his surface wounds and refining almost all of the poisons that had seeped through his flesh.
It didn't take long, utmost 10 minutes before Mira took a deep breath as she opened her eyes, her face more colorful than before. Geoff followed with his striking silver eyes that settled on Lukas who was more than pale after maintaining such a strong spell for a very long while.
More than touched, he held his hand disturbing his spell as he reassured him "This is more than enough. I have already recovered more than half of my strength. It's your turn now. "
Lukas stared at him for a moment before he pulled his eyes away, again. "I have enough mana but it's my mental power that is a little drained. Give me only a few minutes to recover before we continue."
Geoff nodded before he slowly got up. He still felt some muscle strains and a dull throbbing pain but it wasn't as severe as before. He collected his shield and sword while Mira also got up and walked beside him while Rexsi emerged from the shadows his work already done for a while now.
All of them gave way as Lukas delved deeper into his mediation to recover his mental power. This marked his very first battle ever since he reincarnated and within these few minutes he not only recovered some strength through his visualization he also reflected on how the battle went through, from the start to the finish.
He silently sighed to himself.
This was a habit he used to have in his past life especially after all of the major battles he used to have during his gaming carrier, from Guild battles in famous MMOs to PvP battles in some of the countless MOBAs that littered during his century.
Being a professional gamer and a streamer had allowed him to live his life in the fullest doing the things he loved best. It can't be helped that his soul yearned for his old home, the sharp smell of a newly bought keyboard and mouse, the rage induced screams, the music and the wild life of being an online influencer. Maybe just maybe he might find his way back one day, after all he was somehow brought here from earth so a way back might, no 'must' exist. In the meantime he would delve deeper into the powerful world of magic and its laws all until the day he can finally return to where he belonged.
After Geoff, Mira and Rexsi had walked quite a distance but still within range in case of sudden danger, they collectively watched the priest silently meditating as he collected his strength. His once white robe caked with dust and yet somehow it glowed with a muted radiance shedding Lukas into a picture of calm and tranquility with a hint of deep seated loneliness within his handsome pale features.
A moment of silence passed before Geoff first talked keeping his words short and clear.
"We had underestimated him" he said. Mira nodded while Rexsi shrugged as he added "Even I must admit we were lucky to have him with us. Though" he frowned, "Why would the rumors about him being a waste be so wildly spread and known?"He asked.
They all have seen how well he performed and how much wisdom and audacity he possessed. In fact his reputation and his actions were so far apart that they thought that they were two different people.
"But with this…he is bound to soar." Mira said softly, her expression solemn. Geoff agreed "I have a half a mind to recruit him to be our own Priest" he wryly smiled.
Rexsi curiously looked at them both before he asked. "But most priests are known to be very prideful and arrogant…Are you sure you want to ask him to join?"
"His attitude is much grounded. He isn't that arrogant in comparison to other priests." Mira observed.
Geoff paused before he finished. "We will see first have to see how he responds, until then no one speaks of this."
