8 Tristan’s teasing affections made it difficult for me to fall asleep. I tossed and turned, but managed an hour’s rest before a knock on the door roused me. I sat up and rubbed the blurriness from my eyes. “Come in.” Chloe stepped inside, and in her arms was a clothes box. She walked over to the bed and set the box on the ruffled covers. “Lord Tristan says you two need to leave soon, so I should get you up.” I swung my legs over the side of the bed and studied the box. “What’s in there?” “Your dress for the dinner,” she explained as she removed the lid.
