4 Una pulled Lilly through the door and they found themselves in a side hall that ran up and down the entire depth of the building. Steps to their right led to the back of the elevated stage. A short set of stairs just beneath those steps led to a door that stood below ground level. "Where do you think that leads?" Una asked her friend. "Probably beneath the stage," Lilly guessed. "Cool!" Una squealed as she leapt down the steps and tried the old, rusted knob. The knob didn't budge. Her shoulders slumped. "It's locked." Lilly noted the dust that covered the mechanisms of the knob and the floor beneath her friend's shoes. "I don't think anybody's been down there for a while." "Damn. . ." Una muttered.
