. AMERY . I woke up to the sound of indistinct chattering. The smell of antiseptic, a little bitter, with undertones of the artificial fragrance like the one contained in soaps and cleaners coated the air heavily making it impossible for me to breathe properly. The smell made me feel nauseated, like I was about to throw up. I slowly opened my eyes but blinked severally to adjust the rays of sun passing through them. It took me a minute or two to realize that I was in a hospital. My head was throbbed badly. It felt like someone was pulling a saw through it repeatedly. "Doctor, she's awake" The nursed hollered at the doctor who walked up to my bed. He picked up his stethoscope and touched some of my body parts then scribbled something with his pen on a paper and handed it to the nurse
