"Are you sure that you want to do this Amery?" Dad's voice boomed from behind. He was laid back on the panel of the door that supported his weight. I didn't even hear him come in. "Your mother told me about your decision to go back to school and although it's a good idea, I can't help but feel worried."
I smiled at his words. "I know that you both care so much for me but I can't stay locked up in my bedroom forever."
"I know but I just think it's too early and besides, you aren't healed completely yet. What if it gets worse while you're away?"
"It's been a week already dad." I reminded him "It can't get any worse than it already is." I returned to buttoning up my shirt, finishing the look with a pair of ankle boots before slinging my bag over my shoulders in reckless abandon.
