Kyle tried his best to avoid Esme even in school, her words of rejection resounded in his head.
"Hey Knight, wait up?" He turned at the sound of the voice calling after him. He watched Nancy trudge up to him with her books tucked in her arms.
"Hey?" He had never spoken to her before. He was sure that she was one of Esme's best friends who had been really supportive in the past few weeks.
"Sorry to bother you but can I speak to you," she muttered quietly under her breath tucking a strand of her hair away from her face.
