Mark’s POV
“Well, Carla,” I say, looking up from the informative and well organized resume in my hand. “I must say, your resume looks mighty impressive. You appear to be very qualified for the position of manager of Harrogate Building. You worked at your prior apartment complex for over 4 years. Can you tell me why you left?”
“My husband and I had a baby girl recently,” she informs me. “My boss decided to replace me permanently as the office manager when I said I wanted 6 months off for my maternity leave, and then he wasn’t able to give me a similar job when I was ready to return to work. So I took that opportunity to move back to Oregon in order to be closer to my family.”
