Mark’s POV
It’s surprising that Amanda isn’t more upset after what happened down near the lake. Or at least she appears to be outwardly calm while she washes the mud and grime from her hair and body.
I’m an excellent swimmer, and even I don’t care to swim in the lake, since the muddy banks make it so hard to get out. And thanks to the steep bank leading down to the lake, anyone near the shore will be difficult to see. It’s possible that without help, Amanda might have downed.
Was this really an accident? Or was this another attempt to mess with my family and friends by whomever wants me to step down as my grandfather’s heir? Only Grandfather was here from my father’s side of the family, as far as I’ve seen. I really doubt grandfather would want me or anyone close to me dead or
