CHAPTER FOURReluctantly Hermia walked towards Mrs. Buries’s cottage, which was at the end of the village carrying the tonic her mother had made. She always found Mrs. Buries exhausting. Sometimes she was more or less sensible, but at other times her mind wandered and she talked on and on, really not making sense.
