" I was walking minding my own business when I accidentally bumped into a woman who looked at me as though she could just harm me right that moment. She yelled at me to watch where I was going and called me an i***t. I apologized to her and looked to the ground as I walked away. I was just turning a corner when I saw so many people walking around the street minding their business and going about their day. But, for some reason it felt as though they were looking at me. I took a deep breath and continuedto walk to where I was going. I have been called so many names in my life but every single person I bumped into called me everything in the book. Stupid. b***h. Fool. i***t. Useless. I got to the restaurant and got in. As I walking to the back to change and report. A loud voice called out
' you are late!'
'I am sorry sir.'
'Shut up! And just hurry the hell up! We have some important guests coming today and I need you to serve that section.'
'But sir-'
'But nothing! Do you want me to fire your a*s for the disrespect!'
'No sir.'
I rushed to get changed and went back to the front of the house to wait for the guests that were to arrive in a short while. I was partnered with one of the girls Stacy. She was busy fixing her shirt, exposing more her boobs, one would mistake this place for a strip club with how she wanted them out. Her face was caked in so much make up, one would scoop out like ice cream. Don't get me wrong, I wish I could do all these girly things but I never had access to them growing up. And let's just say I always looked like the girl who got hand outs all her life and was bullied well by everyone.
'you know you have to put in effort in your looks, otherwise no one will notice you. You can't come to work on such an important day looking like you haven't slept and you picked your clothes in the trash.'
I was honestly really bad at reading people and usually missed on sarcasm. Like right now, I knew that she was putting me down but I couldn't for the like of me tell if she was also just advising me.
The door opened and the slight breeze from outside hit my face. I looked towards the door when I saw a figure of a talk person walking towards me. The closer he got, the clearer I could make up that it was a very attractive man walking towards me. He was tall, broad shoulders, muscular arms that could be seen even through the suit he was wearing. As my eyes went up to his face, I was met with the most beautiful pair of blue eyes I've ever seen. His lashes long and so straight it looked like he had put mascara on them, he had a strong jaw line and beautiful set of lips that were calling out to be kissed. He walks past me to my section of the restaurant, only briefly glancing at me.
I was pulled out of my thoughts by my boss yelling instructions.
As we were to walk away, I heard Stacy say 'its good to know that your lady parts can react to fine men'
I walk towards the table when I feel someone trip me over, I dunno if it's my own feet or someone but someone tripped me.
The man is staring at me and when I begin to fall, everything on the tray spills on him. The manager is there in no time and starts to shout at me and the man says nothing, his friends give me a look of disgust and irritation. I walk away embarrassed and that day I am fired.
My mother chases me that night after I caught her with my boyfriend. She beat me and I fell on a fence."
I finish telling the woman sitting across me,she's the therapist I've been seeing for three weeks now.
" Well, our session has come to an end. We will pick up next week."
"That's it? You have to be kidding! For three weeks I've come here and you haven't said anything." I said irritated.
She sat back down. "Lisa, you have made progress today by talking. The past two weeks and a session you came and sat for the whole hour of the session without a word. Told you have started to open up which is you beginning to get comfortable. The more you are, the more you talk and we address any issues. Today you told me a story and I hope you tell me more so that we can get to the hard part."
"Okay."
" If you have any questions, feel free to call me and we work on it together."
I left her office and decided to take a walk. I kept asking myself why he haunted me in my dreams but I didn't tell her the part where my mother tells me, he came never like trash like me.
I found myself in front of a well known company, CKJ House, they were well known as the biggest company in the hotel business. They owned so many hotels around the country as well as shipping services and ships for holidays.
My feet seemed to have a mind of their own and led me inside.
I approached the reception and found a beautiful dark skinned girl. She had a smooth, chocolate face. Not even a spot in sight and she had minimum make up.
" Hello" I said.
She turned to me and smiled."hello, welcome to CKJ house, how many I help you?"
" Well, I know it's unusual but I was just trying to find out if the company was hiring or maybe I can just leave my CV. I dunno which ever works.." she stopped me with her laugh.
" You are adorable. Just give me a minute." She pressed a few keys on her keyboard, " you are in luck hun. There are interviews taking place right now on the last floor. Take the elevator and ask the receptionist there to direct you to where the interviews for the CEOs PA are taking place. What's your name?"
"Lisa Brown or you can call me Lee"
" I'm Tammy. Now hurry on up and get that job."
"Thank you." She smiled and winked at me.
I was so nervous, what did I get myself into. I wasn't ready for this interview. I was in jeans, a blouse and sneakers. I got into the elevator and pressed the last floor. People entered and left and it felt like forever to reach the floor. I got off and approached the reception desk. I told her what I came for. She asked for my name and checked. She said I was on the list and sent me to the room
where interviews where to take place. She was cold though unlike Tammy.
So many people mostly women were sitting there, smartly dressed and some looked like they were ready for the club of to strip.
I sat and watched as one by one names were called and left angry or in tears. My name was called and I left five people sitting there.
I walked into a medium sized room but big enough to be an apartment. On the side of the room there was clear glass and a door which led to a much bigger room. So much big, even Kate's apartment could fit in there. There was a huge desk at the end near the big window. Some sofas and a coffee table was near the door and it had another one side and another somewhere. I was curious to know where they led to.
" Hello, I'm Lisa Brown here for an interview." I said nervously as his chair was facing the window. He turned quickly with a look of shock.
It was the same blue eyes that haunted my dreams. A smirk appeared on his face.
