Connor had an armful of textbooks as he walked up the pathway to Annie Maxwell's house. He hadn't been able to get in touch with his girlfriend earlier but he knew that she'd called out sick so he made sure to go to all her classes, pick up her homework and then grab her books from her locker. He didn't want her to fall behind because he knew how tough it was to play catch up. Besides that, he wanted to see her. She usually didn't call out when she was sick. Last year she hadn't missed a day, even when her allergies were kicking her pretty hard. In a brown bag, he had two cans of chicken noodle soup, some crackers and a new release he'd picked up from Blockbuster.
