I watch as Zoe leaves my office, and I have an eerie feeling that I cannot trust her. I mind link the guards outside of Rowena's room, letting them know not to let anyone but staff into her room.
'Beta Zoe has already tried to enter her room this morning,' the lead guard responds in my head.
'Did you let her into Rowena's room?' I respond through the mind link.
'No, Alpha,' the guard tells me. 'We were able to deter her.'
'Keep me posted on who comes and goes from her room,' I say before cutting the mind link.
Panic rises in my chest as I think about how soon Alpha Tristan will be here. I am positive that he will want to see Rowena before he signs the contract between us. I will need to make sure that Rowena is willing to lie. I am sure if Alpha Tristan fi
