ch 1 Emma

1503 Words
She rushed through the house looking for her keys. Looking at the time, she knew she had to hurry or she would be late for her first class. She was able to start med school as a junior this year. All the extra hard work studying had paid off. Most students entering a first year of college still has many years before starting med school. Emma however, sacrificed everything she had to make it this far and tested off the charts advancing her to skip to junior year. At eighteen it was almost unheard of. "Come on I can't be late! Where are my keys!" Emma said in frustration. She was about to lose her patience when she spotted them on the kitchen table next to her father's paper. He was old school. He wanted the feel of the newspaper in his hands. She smiled at her father and mother sitting at the table before she grabbed her keys and ran out the door. Emma's soft blonde almost white curls hung loose at her waste. Emma rushed out of the parking garage of her small apartment she shared with her parents to pick up Lela. Emma and her family lived pretty modestly. Her parents chose to save for her college instead of living lavishly. Her best friend Lela was completely opposite. her and her family lived on the way to campus in a lavish three bedroom apartment with plenty of space. Emma didn't mind it. Lela was model gorgeous. Her long auburn hair was always styled perfectly and her makeup always on point that highlighted her features and made her chestnut eyes brighter. Emma barely wore makeup if at all and her emerald green eyes were innocent. Lela's legs were long and fit her perfectly toned body. Lela looked like she could be a model. Emma was shorter and curvy. Beautiful in the girl next door way. Emma had always preferred to stay out of the light. She let Lela soak up all the attention and was perfectly happy for it. She pulled into her best friends apartment complex and dialed her on the phone. "I'm here! I swear I couldn't find my keys!" Emma never fit in with people. Lela was really the only one she talked to. Lela came out in all her designer clothes and designer bag. Emma couldn't help but smile at her friend. Always perfectly put together. " omg Ems step on it! we can't be late!" Emma was always worried about not picking the perfect seat that showed her good side. she liked to be early to pick the right sun ratio for her. " thankfully there is no traffic. we will make it." Emma sped down the road and made it in a parking spot 5 min before they both had class. " see you at lunch lela!! be good!!!" They both smiled and rushed to their classes. Emma made it to class a minute before the professor walked in. she picked a seat and grabbed her notebook and pencil ready to take notes. She was in advanced classes and knew it would be hard from the start. from the back of the class the doors swung opened and closed gently. Emma turned towards the noise and locked onto the most brilliant blue sapphire eyes she had ever seen. He walked down to a seat like a Greek God his thick black hair brushed to the side. Emma took in a deep breath at his sight. Not once did he take his eyes off hers until he took a seat in the opposite row as her. " alright class all eyes on me. I am professor Kendall and this is advanced pharmacology that is a part of your med school training. This will be a tough class and will demand your time and good studying skills. If you came here for a social life......" she paused and looked around the room before continuing, " you might as well leave now. this class will take over any social life you may have. one last thing before we get into our lecture today is you want to pair up and get a study partner. it is one way to ensure you pass this class." she smiled and then told us to take out our books as she dove into her lecture. This class was going to be insane. After an hour of lecture and profuse note taking they were dismissed. Emma gathered up all her books and notes putting them in her bag. She felt eyes on her as she organized her notes neatly in her backpack. when she looked up she saw those sapphire eyes sparkling in her direction. He gave her a smile as she got up and walked out the doors. This was going to be a long semester. He was gorgeous. Emma took out her phone and shot a text to Lela. MEET IN THE CAFETERIA AFTER CLASS. I HAVE A 2 HR WINDOW. BE THERE IN 15 Emma put her phone in her pocket and made her way to the cafeteria. picking out some fruit, a salad and chicken parm she grabbed water and made her way to a table. She felt someone was watching her as she studied for her next class. As Emma looked up she saw those same blue eyes that had her thoughts all over the place. who was he and why couldn't she get him out of her mind? Thankfully she was interrupted by Lela and her questioning look. "whose the hotty? He has a body that could make a girl take her panties off right here in the cafeteria and make a girl beg to be taken on a table," Lela looked at her friend knowing something was happening there. " what?.... what did you say?" Emma shook her head to break her gaze from the adonis a table away. " sorry I wasn't paying attention. I don't know his name. he is in my first class. I don't have time for a social life. these next two years are going to be killer and I don't have time for that. " She wanted him though. Emma wanted him to come over and rip her panties off and take her against the wall. " besides Lela I have never been in a relationship let alone kissed anyone. men like him don't go for girls like me." Emma sighed and brought her gaze back to her book. She had no time for fantasies. Lela shrugged it off. Her friend was letting it go for now but not for long. She was going to get her friend to open up and date. " Lela get it out of your head. I don't have time. " Lela just smirked. The girls ate silently as Emma studied her book for her next class. Not long after she felt him move past her. She looked up and he was with two other guys. All three equally handsome, but her eyes rested on the dark haired man with the sparkling blue eyes. His head was held low as he walked by. " see Lela, guys like that don't go for girls like me. they go for big boobed bimbos that they can take to bed and not call the next day." This thought still didn't stop her from day dreaming though. " OH Ems I don't know. " her eyes followed them out the doors of the cafeteria, " he was watching you pretty intently....." she trailed off a little as she watched Emma. " and the way you were watching him when I came up says there is something more to this. why don't you let something good happen to you for once?" Lela looked softly at her friend. Emma had long since cut most people out. She dove into studying and made it her only passion. Lela knew her friend was shy and that she made books and school her everything. The only reason why Emma opened up to her was because Lela forced herself on Emma. Lela took control and made Emma follow her around. " I have to get to my next class. meet you after. are we going out on Friday? I really think you could use a good time. maybe let loose some." Lela got up and Emma packed her books back up to head to her next class as well. " yeah and no." Emma had no intentions of going out anywhere. Especially not some frat party where she would stick out like a sore thumb. Lela scowled. " no you are going Friday. I will pick you up at 9 I need a wing man!" she left before Emma could say no. Emma didn't want to go but she knew Lela wouldn't take no this time. she huffed to herself as she made her way out of the cafeteria and headed to her next class. This school semester couldn't come to an end fast enough.
