Chapter 3 We need your blood!

2426 Words
I took my little luggage and left the pack. I'm still in the Golden Moon pack, but far away enough that my presence isn't detected. The unfortunate event of my birthday hurt me deeply and I admit that I was on the verge of making of killing myself, but I know that beyond the anger I feel now there must be something else left in this world for me. Athena is with me. I just can't believe I have a wolf. The shock from my birthday made her come to the surface, much earlier than she had planned, but now she's with me. My first transformation will be fixed when she wants it. It's enough for me to know she's with me. I learned a lot from her. How to hide my smell and make my presence undetectable, how to hunt to survive, practically in the last four months we were just the two of us, alone in the heart of the mountains. I live like a hermit but that's all I need now to find myself. I lived for so many years in noise, in anger, that I came to believe that it is normal to live like that. The pack almost made me think I deserved what was happening to me. No one deserves to live like this. For the past four months I have lived in a small cave. Our pack is in the state of Montana and fortunately a lot of Yellowstone Park is in our territory. A huge, protected, partially inhabited park is at my disposal to shelter me. I hate to hurt animals, so I hunt for the bare necessities. With the help of Athena I learned to avoid other werewolves and I could say that I am undetectable and so I intend to stay for a while, until I decide in which direction I will direct my steps. The Golden Moon pack is about 50 km from where I am now. I haven't broken ties with the pack yet, I don't think it's wise to be a rogues while I'm still here, all things have their time. Today was supposed to be a normal day. A little discussion with my wolf in the first hour, a quick swim in Undine Falls, I hunt a rabbit or a bird to have something to eat in the next few days and I try to relax and find peace. This is my daily routine but it seems that today things do not happen the way I want because just when I come out of the water I hear noise nearby. "Elle," I hear Athena say, "...hide." I immediately pull on my clothes and try to mask my presence. I try to listen and somehow catch at least a fragment of what is happening. There are over 100 rogues. I have never seen such a gathering of rogues in my life, not even on the day my parents died. I hope they are not heading for the Golden Moon pack. I sincerely hate them but I don't want anyone to die at the hands of some damn rogues. The pack has about 1200 members but more than half are children and the elderly. The actual fighters are around 300, which is a lot but not enough in a massive attack. A rogues is like a mad dog. The longer he stays alone, the more dangerous he becomes. That's why I didn't want to break ties with the pack. The feeling of belonging to a pack makes your mental health stay stright. That and also the proximity to your fated mate. I was given away the chance to have a fated mate. "Athena, let's follow them from a distance." I say slightly puzzled. I don't understand what they want to do and where they are going. After two hours of sneaking and sneaking after them, everything becomes clear. They are not in transit. Their target is the Golden Moon pack. "Oh, my goddess! Athena, what are we going to do?" I ask in panic. I hate this pack. Only few members haven't treated me badly but do I want they to be wounded and killed by the hand of some rogues? Definitely not! "We're not doing anything, Elle," Athena says earnestly. "We are watching what is happening and if necessary we will see what and if it is possible to help." "But ... there are so many children, Athena!" I say panic. "Don't force things, Elle. My time hasn't come yet." Her time has not come, her time has not come! "I'm curious if you would been here with me, Athena, if Brandon hadn't hurt me so badly 4 months ago. I'd probably still be wolfless." "Most likely, but now I am here and I'm telling you to stay calm." I'm hiding, I don't want to upset her. "Ahh, Athena "... this is emotional blackmail. "Damn it!" The next hour I see the rogues approaching the pack. Please goddess, protect them, at least the kids ... Damn it! Protect them all! " "All of them?" Athena asks slightly amused ... as if I see her raising an eyebrow and looking at me in annoyance. "Everyone ..." I say in a low voice. "Even our naughty and treacherous brother?" I'm not saying anything. "Even Jacob and Jake Sullivan? Which, if I think about it now, I think I should have hit them harder ..." I swallow and close my eyes. "Even Bran ..." "Enough Athena, I know where you want to go. Everyone! I've been through a smaller attack than the following and it has changed my life in the worst possible way. We need to be able to do something. We need to at least warn them. " "No need to ... listen carefully" Athena is right, Golden Moon pack felt the hordes of rogues. They are not taken by surprise. The next few minutes are a nightmare. At the head of the Golden Moon pack are Alpha Taylor and the Sullivan Gamma. Strangely enough, after the death of my father, Alpha Taylor did not want to replace him with anyone. Next to them are Brandon, Michael, Jacob and Jake. followed by fighters. I see the tension on their faces and I hear Jacob saying "We are just f****d up!". The attack is downright sinister. I see them struggling and struggling to fight with the mobs in front of them. I see them trying their best to keep them away from the pack and to protect those left at home. Fortunately, this is not a surprise, but they are visibly overwhelmed. I stay hidden and watch them fall one by one. Rogues fall but the members of the pack also fall. "Jacob!" I suddenly hear Brandon screaming, but it's too late. Jacob is taken up by two rogues and torn apart. Everything goes so fast that I feel I will faint. I'm starting to tremble. "Elle, stay calm," I hear Athena say to me. Michael is in pain but manages to free himself and escape, but not for long. There is so much blood around. In half an hour it is already clear that the pack is losing. Suddenly everything calms down in my mind. I don't hear anything anymore. No screams of pain, no screams of attack, no growls and blows. Everything is calm. No one will die again today, I have to help them. I open my eyes and see Michael shaken and full of blood trying to lift Brandon who seems lifeless. Alpha Taylor tries to crawl towards him. Jake tries to help his father who is injured and the fighters have no strategy without thei leaders . Everything is chaos. They will all die at this rate. "Athena, help me!" I say as I run to the battlefield. "Elle, no!" but I'm not interested in anything she has to say. I'll be without the pack when I want to, not when the hordes of rogues want! If I'm going to die today, let it be! But I'm not going to stay doing nothing. I start running and screaming as loud as I can. It's my first growl. I was almost scared of the power of my roar. I run and throw myself into the fight, jumping off the rock, after which I hid, but when my feet touched the ground, I realized that I was on all fours. 4 huge paws. Holy f*****g s**t! I'm a wolf! And I'm huge! "Not now, Elle. I'll take care of you, fight now! That's what you wanted, isn't it? Fight!" I see Alpha Taylor on the ground looking shocked at me. Michael's mouth is open. He tries to protect Brandon, who is still unconscious and full of blood. His abdomen is torn. I look around and analyze the situation. You know who Athena is, don't you? It is not for nothing that my wolf has this name. She is the goddess of wisdom and war. I immediately take the lead. “Group up!” I shouted at the fighters. "Stay in groups and protect your backs!" I don't know how I managed, but immediately the fighters obeyed the order and started fighting in groups. In two hours, silence fell over our battlefield. Many members of the pack died, but at the moment no rouges are moving. I Killed over 30 rogues on my own. I can hardly believe it. I sit and look around. Only our fighters are standing and looking at me in shock. I'm sure by now they've figured out who I am. They also realized that I was or should have been the luna of this pack, that I was Brandon's mate. Under no circumstances could I have ordered it and would not have obeyed me if I had not placed an luna command. They bows their heads and leans in front of me. The chief of the warriors knelt before me and said as if ashamed: : "Thank you , luna. You saved us today." and he bows his head in the shocked eyes of Alpha Taylor and Michael. I'm still in the shape of a wolf and I realize I'm a phenomenal image. I'm not sure how big I am, but most rogues were smaller than me. The only ones who were close in size were Alpha Taylor and Brandon. "I am not your luna. I am not the luna and I will never be," I say bluntly. "Help the wounded. Some are in serious condition." "Of course, the luna," I hear him say amused. I nod disapprovingly and head for Alpha Taylor, who has fallen next to Brandon. Michael looks at me in shock. "You saved us today. Thank you, Elle," I hear alfa Taylor say. "You have nothing to thank me for. I just did what was normal to do." and I look at Michael, who is looking at me with tears in his eyes. he is visibly injured but is trying to support Brandon. "Get him on my back and I'll take him to the hospital." Michael and alfa Taylor place him on my back carefully and I start running with him to the hospital. Behind me comes the rest of the pack, some carrying the wounded and others the deads. My appearance with Brandon almost dead on my back created a huge shock. Luna Thalia rushed to take him down and the doctors took him immediately. Everything happens so fast that I don't have time to realize what's going on around me. It's noise again, I feel anger again. I am in the place of my suffering. Six years ago, when I was just a child, everyone blamed me for not being able to standup and it was necessary for others to fight for me. Today I got my revenge. And what revenge ... "Elle" I hear Michael behind me. "I brought you some clothes." I take them without looking at him and I turn back into a human being. In a few minutes I am in front of the hospital again and watch the members of the pack carry their wounded. "Elle ..." I hear Michael again. "I am sorry" I'm not telling him anything. He is my brother, the man I loved the most in this world and yet the one who hurt me the most, the one who gave love for an unmotivated hatred. "Shut up, Michael! I just want you to shut up." "I am so, so sorry ..." I hear him crying next to me. "How's Jake? I'm sorry for Jacob." I'm really sorry? "Brandon?" "Brandon is in a coma. He has lost a lot of blood, but he will live. We don't know when he will recover. He will be in his condition for a long time." says Michael. "But he will live while others have lost the fight for life." I want to leave but suddenly I hear my name called by the lunaThalia. "Elle, please help Brandon!" "What do you want from me, luna Thalia? Didn't I bring him home alive yet? What more could I do?" I know she's his mother and she loves him, but I know just as well how much she hates me. it seems to me a fantastic audacity to ask me to help Brandon. "Please, Elle. He needs his mate by his side to recover quickly. Doctors say it could take months for him to wake up." "You're asking too much of me, Thalia. I'm not his mate, you don't know what your son did, to ask me this." "I know what he did, and I know he's fault, but he's my only son. He has to live." "I can not, I'm sorry..." I left the hospital but after a discussion with Athena I came back and went straight to Brandon's living room. His parents look at me in shock. Michael too. "What do you need?" I ask the doctors, "I am his fated mate. He rejected me, but I have not yet accepted his rejection. I will resolve this issue when he wakes up. But right now what do you need?" "We need your blood first. His mate's blood will help him grow stronger and recover faster. The bond will really help." says one of the doctors. "There's no bond," I say ironically, "it's normal that you want my blood, that's what he's always wanted in recent years ... maybe he'll have it," I said, sitting down on my chair and rolling up my sleeves. "Give him my blood!"
