Chapter 11Tuesday and Wednesday, I worked as hard and as long as I could, doing my homework first, and then carving far into the night. The light probably bothered my sisters as they tried to sleep, but I had to occupy my mind and my hands. I hadn’t known my feelings for Jason ran so deep. I missed him in my heart, in my groin, and in my mind. My melancholy did not seem to affect my work. The warrior’s head was finished. The maiden’s was coming along, and I had already blocked out the general shape of the boy and the girl.
