It was late in the night. Everyone had dispersed to their respective spots of rest for the long day. Royce, however, was not one of them. Sleep had alluded her. After speaking with Calin, her exhaustion turned into anxious energy.
She didn’t tell him everything, but she told him enough. Enough for Calin to realize that life at that forsaken home was far more than young adults learning a lesson in breaking the laws. It was far more than that.
