First Kiss

CHAPTER 8

Bella

Arianna still owes me an explanation about her and Cameron, but I am not going to push her now to open up to me. I’ll allow her to explain herself when she is ready, but from what I picked up, they have some bad history. I had to attempt to calm Gabriel after he punched Cameron in his face cos I could sense his burning anger and seeing the twitching in his jaw and the deadly look his eyes had, I had to do something. I went and hugged him from the back and whispered to him to let Cameron go, and when our eyes locked, I could see the fury in his eyes disappear, and he started to calm down a bit. Once Cameron left, Gabriel stormed outside to the pool area and got his phone out. After making sure everyone was okay, I went outside to check up on him.

I walked slowly towards him as he was still on the call. He saw me approaching him, and I heard him say “Just get it done!” Before he cut off the call. “Hey”, I shyly greeted. “Hey you” he replied with a slight smile. "Sorry about hugging you earlier, I was scared and didn’t want you to do something you were going to regret later.” I told him, and he just stood there, both hands in his pants pockets, and stared into my eyes like he was searching for something. “Anyways, I hope you didn’t hurt your hand. Do you need some ice or something to put on it?” I asked him. “It’s all good, not even a scratch”, he said as he showed me his hand. “Listen Love, I don’t want you being afraid or worrying about anything, I will never let that imbecile or anyone disrespect or hurt you and Ari ever again. If someone tries your'll best, let me know immediately, and I will take care of it !”

Did he just call me Love? Yes, from all that he said, that was pretty much the only thing I heard. I kind of became deaf after and the fluttering of butterflies in my belly started up again and the warm moist feeling between my thighs was making it so difficult to concentrate on the rest of what he was saying. This man has me totally under his spell!

The next thing I knew, he had me pinned against a wall and kissed me. I think I may have died and gone to Heaven! I have never been kissed like this before. He tasted so good and I just didn’t want him to stop but he did and then with his one hand he took off the band holding my ponytail in place and ran his fingers through my hair and used the fingers of the other to gently stroke my face while speaking in a husky tone “I know you are in shock right now my love and it will take a bit of time to digest it all but there’s no denying this connection we have. I don’t want to lose you, but if you don’t feel anything towards me and I am imagining this mutual attraction between us, then all you have to do is say the word. It won’t be easy, but I will step away.”

Without putting much thought into it, I trusted my instincts and wrapped my hands around his neck and pulled down his face towards me, and kissed him. I was living in the moment for a change, and it felt so good. “I’ll take that as you want to give us a shot!” he teased as we slowly released our lips from each other. I could only nod in agreement. Words were just not coming out of my mouth. “Tell you what, how about you go rest for a bit? You definitely need it after all that happened. Take some time to clear your mind, and we will meet up later to talk things over” I shook my head in agreement and high tailed to my room.

I headed straight for the shower and stood under it fully dressed. I needed to calm down and think clearly. I have never reacted or felt like this for anyone before, and I don’t know if I should be scared or happy. And what about my past? Will he feel the same about me knowing what I have done. Even though not by choice, but the fact remains, I was a prostitute. I had, or maybe, still do have a master. Mason trained my mind well, and had it not been for getting Jacob to safety, I would still be serving him. I deserve some happiness, don’t I? Gabriel did promise to protect us, and he seemed like the type of person whom nobody would want to have as an enemy . Not even Mason. He has this aura of power around him. Yet he is so gentle with me. Even Jacob seems to like him. I am just going to take a leap of faith and try whatever this is with Gabriel.

Gabriel

I have never been happier. My Bella is definitely my soul mate, I know about her past and hope that doesn’t affect her decision about us. I got the information about her not just from Arianna but also from my private investigators. A lot has changed since I was last in a serious relationship. For someone in my power, now I have to make sure I know everything there is to know about someone before committing to anything. Be it business or personal. Even before coming to this town, it was screened thoroughly by my people to ensure my safety, and I have my men spread out here and blending in so as not to draw suspicion. They are professionals and are my invisible shadows.

In the event that I am in harms way, and unable to fend for myself all I have to do is trigger the panic button set on my ring or neck chain which I always wear and my people will appear within minutes. The pieces of jewelry were specifically designed for me and looked nothing out of the ordinary so no one could guess its true purpose. It also has tiny tracking devices fitted in. I had sets made for my dad, mum, and sister. So it just looks like a family symbol or something. Now that my Bella and Jacob are going to be a part of my world, I have to get my team to start designing sets for them, too. They are under my care and protection now. Cameron’s petty threats doesn’t affect me as he is, in actual fact, a nobody in comparison to me, and he got it all wrong. I OWN THIS TOWN!

His father relies on my funding to maintain his role as a mayor, and I am the biggest investor in their business and other small businesses in this town. I allow them to think that they have control as I prefer remaining low-key. They don’t even know it’s me as I remain anonymous on all the records. The call I made earlier was to cease all funding and pull out as an investor in their business with immediate effect. I am going to teach that spoilt egotistical brat a lesson, and unfortunately, his family will have to face the consequences for his actions. Not like they have been all innocent. They are well deserving of what’s coming their way.
