Amber's POV
It was two days, Momma Dee came and chatted often. Never getting to close to me. She always asking questions here and there. The one I could not answer was what was I. I had no idea. I don't think my parents ever told me what I was. She told me that her family was a mix of werewolves and couple were bears. They would go around and find places that bought and sold people as slaves. They were trying to free as many as possible. I was not sure what a werewolf or a were bear was. I hoped this time they could help me.
It was evening, Momma Dee had showed me how to use the TV and something called Netflix. She also gave me a cell phone programed with a bunch of numbers including one she said to call in an emergency. They left trays of food for me. Sometimes Momma Dee and sometimes a little girl. I only heard the man once. Normally it was the males who were the meanest. Minus the female vampire. She was the one to cause a good portion of my scars. My body cringed at the thought of her fangs and nails digging into my body. I felt the tears flow, the anxiety and stress racking my body. I could not stop it. I was frozen in fear. My breathing came in gasps as I cried harder.
I did not hear the door open, or hear the footsteps come to me. Arms wrapped around me and I felt warmth spread through my body. "Its ok honey," I heard Momma Dee's words cooed softly in my ear. She spoke softly, something about her had a calming effect. I was not sure why, my breathing started come easier, and my heart rate began to go to normal.
"How?" I asked breathless.
"I am a true omega." She murmured to me rubbing circles on my back rocking me slowly.
"A true omega?" I questioned.
"It is a wolf with the power to influence calm in other beings." she confided.
"Oh," I breathed. "Thank you." I felt better now that the feeling of the chaos that had slipped its way into my body was gone.
"Welcome, honey" Momma Dee gushed in my ear. Rubbing slow steady circles on my back and humming softly.
Relaxation was felt throughout my whole body. This was new for me, but it felt wonderful. My body felt so heavy as I drifted off to sleep. This dream was the one I craved the most, I was running in the forest. My body was on fire from the strain of running. I could see my clothes tattered and wounds dotting my skin. I kept running until I found a small opening at the base of a large cut down tree. On my hands and knees I crawled in to the opening, I was to big to fit properly to hide, I could not contain my sobs as they started with determination to wring my heart with pain. It was only when I smelled the scent of leather and horse. That scent was in my brain from the time before I was taken. It was the scent I associated with home.
I looked up to see a shadow figure of a man. He was looking down at me. I could not see his face. Tears and sobs still falling from my eyes. I watched him kneel down. The darkness broke from his face as the moonlight spilled over his features. Warm brown eyes stared into my dull green ones. "It seems we have been destined to meet." I heard his silky deep voice say. He lifted both hands using his thumbs he said, "You will have no need to ever cry again little one."
There was no effort in the way he picked me up bridal style or started to carry me away. I felt safe, in his arms. The smell of my home that was taken wrapped around me. I could almost feel the warmth of his embrace as I sagged against the expanse of his chest.
I awoke the next morning on the bed, as Momma Dee came in with a tray of breakfast. "Good morning dear," She smiled warmly at me placing the tray on the folding table near my bed.
I gave her a weak smile lowering my eyes to say, "Morning, thank you."
"I know it will take time, but I would like to start to introduce you to the people who saved you. I know Mato, would like to see that you are awake. He was the one to find you in that horrid cell and carry you out. " Her words were soft, making sure only gentleness flowed from them.
"H.. He.. found me," I stuttered. Just the thought of a male holding me sent shivers of fear racing through me. Mix that with odd surprise and you would understand my confusion.
"He did," Momma Dee nodded. "He wants to see you, but is willing to stand at the door. He knows you are afraid and rightly so." You could hear the agreement with those words in her tone.
I let my mind take hold of this information. Perhaps if he stayed at the door, and did not move it would be ok. Momma Dee was here. She had given me no reason to be worried. In fact she had made sure to help me work past that horrible panic that gripped me last time. "Would you be here to?" I looked into her aged brown eyes.
"Of course dear," I could see the promise in her eyes to know she would stay.
"Ok," I whispered as I lowered my eyes to the bed. I scooted all the way to press my back to the headboard and grabbing my legs to my chest. If I was like this I couldn't be hurt to badly I played it back in my head.
Momma Dee sat next to me on the edge of the bed, wrapping an arm around my shoulders she voiced slightly louder. "Ok Mato, stay at the door. Do not walk in." Her voice stern in its instruction.
I watched the door open, there in the light I seen a man with brown hair mixed with grey, dark brown eyes, and a faint warm smile. "Hello young one," his voice soft and gentle.
Terror spread across my body, I gulped it down and nodded. Shrinking into Momma Dee's shoulder. I nodded quick and hid my face against her chest. My body shaking of its own accord.
"Alright Mato," I felt Momma Dee squeeze my shoulders closer to her. "This is a good start. Please close the door and resume your position as a guard." Her words steady and calm as I felt a wave of that calmness splash over me. The door closed, making me glance up to see he was gone and the door was as it should be.
