On my way to the arena for a preseason game, my phone rings through the Bluetooth in my car. Seeing my mom’s name flash across the screen, I press Accept. “Hey, Ma,” I answer. “Warner, honey. How is Florida?” “Warm. How’s New York?” She laughs. “Cold. Had our first snowfall last night. Just a dusting, but you know how much Julien loves it. He was trying to catch the snow in his mouth.” “Wish I was there.” I hit the blinker to make a right.
