I jump startled in Adlous’s arms at the unexpected knock on the door. His deep voice floats through the door “Aldous are you in there with the Crone we have to debrief”
I jump back from him and settle back in the chair quickly wiping my tears and putting the veil and disguise back in place. We share a quick nod and Aldous opens the door wide before coming behind me to take control of the chair.
I catch another odd look pass between them and as we cross the threshold I see the blonde coming out of what I presume is Cormac’s room next door. She looks ruffled, well they obviously had a fun catch up I think bitterly.
I look away not interested in seeing the looks they’ll give each other post coital. It hurts so much more than I ever thought it could.
