Chapter 29: Powers Unlocked

Lily

Roman and I made up after my indiscretion with Aidan, I was conflicted because I loved Roman despite the asshole he was and I love Aidan more than anything. I couldn't believe how strong our bond was after he came back, it was hard to fight it now, Adina wanted King back and hated going to this wedding and Luna Ceremony. The truth was, he was handling business, he was too busy and refused to give me a chance to explain everything unless I dropped in on him unexpectedly. However, he was secretly getting to know Kyan and it warmed my heart that he loves his son. I pulled up to the venue with Roman and saw all of his old allies there and new ones, Roman was uneasy but I still held his hand to calm him. Eric was there also because Addison was invited, if only he knew she was sleeping with Ty and I smiled to myself understanding that they would all pay for what happened over a thousand years ago. Issy was excited to see Ty and I hope she doesn't like him too much because he won't mate her. She was a little jittery going into the chapel for the wedding until we all turned to see that Toffe was her destined mate.

Honestly, I was happy Issy found her mate and it was no other than Ty's little brother, "She was in good hands," I thought, but I knew Roman would still try to force her hand. I mind-linked her and said, "Issy, mark Sky tonight, your father will still try to force you," Issy looked at me and she linked back, "Thanks Mother, I will move here also," and I nodded in approval. As we settled into our seats, I could feel Roman's anger, so I calmed him down and held his hand like a good mate, but his touch was beginning to repulse me. I wanted Aidan more and more each day since we f****d each other and I couldn't keep that moment out of my head, I needed to reject him after the ceremony. I was jealous that he chose Michelle, she was getting the life I thought I would have with him so many years ago. Roman took that away from me and I stupidly fell in love with him, now Aidan probably hates me and I don't blame him. I had to keep my feelings suppressed so my husband couldn't read me, I was torn and it's stupid but being marked by someone with whom wolves had bonded, will force you to love them eventually, and have some special feelings for them. Giving someone your mark is sacred, so you have to be sure when choosing a mate because if your fated mate shows up, the bond will be stronger.

The music started and everyone took their places, Drax was the best man, I believed, and the others were the groom's men, along with Michelle's brothers and friends. One of the elders stood in his place to conduct the ritual and marriage ceremony as Michelle started to walk down the aisle and my wolf was fighting me, saying, "She can't have our mate," but I blocked her out as it was hard enough watching Aidan marry her. She was wearing this off-shoulder, long-flowing dress with a long trail that showed off her curves and showed Aidan's mark on her neck for all to see. Those who know Aidan's true identity will see the mark of the Queen Luna on Michelle, to the others, it's just a regular Alpha's mark. Her hair was in a French Braid with lilies in her hair as well as the bouquet, I thought, "Are you kidding me?" She looked at me and smiled like she knew it would annoy me and she was staking her claim on Aidan. She looked at Aidan after she was done looking at me, I knew at that moment, Aidan told her about us and that she still chose to marry him, all I could say to myself was, "This bitch."

Aidan

I watched Michelle walk down the aisle and I was excited, I didn't even know how it happened but I was completely in love with her. Our bond has grown since I marked her and I knew that I made the right choice, however, I also felt Lily's heartbreak and I had hoped that she wouldn't show up. I was an asshole for f*****g her and walking out but I tried to control it, but King overpowered me when I got distracted and when I took control of him, I was already balls-deep in Lily. It felt amazing, I missed her so much and couldn't understand why we still had a mate bond but I didn't care as I wanted her so much at that moment. After the wedding, Michelle and I snuck away to change and had a little private time between us, she was officially my wife and Luna. There was so much we are learning about ourselves as our powers unlock slowly but we are taking it with stride. We headed back out to our wedding party and everyone was having a good time, Michelle was talking with friends and family and I walked over to the others linking them to keep their eyes open for any threats from Roman.

Erik f****d up as I saw images coming through about an ambush heading our way and I give out orders to prepare, Toffe was on it as quickly as possible. Michael and his team were ready and I had Michelle's protection detail close to her when I heard the alarm and all hell broke loose. They were after my mate and although I wanted to check on Lily, my priority was my wife as she was the target. Barron and his bears were ruthless running into the woods to stop the rogues in their tracks, I could see all my guests defending themselves, even the pretentious Roman because he was behind this. Michelle was in trouble, Toffe was down and so was Dimitri, I felt her fear, I can't lose her, I just can't and I was around the corner heading towards her as I mind-linked her, "Hang on baby, I am coming." As I approached her, I felt my bonds snap and she was on the ground, I never felt rage like this before, my wolf and vampire fully took over as I lay unconscious in my mind.

Kiev/Aidan

I rushed over to my beloved and I was soaked in blood, but I didn't care, I looked at the dead bodies around me that King had taken out. He was resting with Aidan as the loss was too much for them, I picked her up bridal style and walked with her to the mansion as everyone in my pack felt the loss of their Luna. Drax was upset and, rightfully so, he cleared the room as I rested her on the table. I touched her blood with my finger and tasted it to get her final moments before I mind-linked Toffe and Michael in my anger and yelled, "Find Erik and bring him here." Elijah had prisoners and took them to the dungeons, Lily was also hurt as Roman was tending to her as he felt her pain as I did, but I cared about Michelle at the moment, so I rested my hand on her heart as the light flowed from my hand and my eyes glazed over to silver. Everyone stopped and looked at me in awe, and others knelt before me, acknowledging me as their True King. Drax and Ty rested their hands on my shoulders and their bodies lighted up with their silver eyes before everyone saw Michelle starting to heal from her injuries. They stepped back and I held Michelle's hand and whispered in her ear, "Wake up, my love, we need you," I then gave control back to Aidan. Our biggest power was unlocked at that moment, even before we were prepared for it to save my Supreme Mate's life.

Roman

I was furious when Erik got caught because Tennison Valmore almost broke his arm for hitting Addison, he got his blood read like a jack ass and I was hoping that he just punished him and not read his memories. I tried my best to get Gamma Valmore off of Erik just in case but he ignored my Alpha Command and that was unheard of. I had just spoken with Erik about the stunt he pulled and how he could do that to his daughter, I even told him, "There was no guarantee that Tennison wouldn't see your memories." He said, "My lord, I don't think he did or he would have had us all dead by now," I was pissed but he did have a point, "Maybe, he just wanted to kill you and never saw your memories," I said. We need to find out why they can't be Alpha Commanded by me but could be Alpha Commanded by Alpha Ares. Something is not right, we need to find out where they appeared from and who their parents are. I said, "We need to call off the attack in case they know, and we can't afford to go to war with them, not until we know everything about their life."

I can safely say that I was scared and no one ever had me scared like this, these brothers were too powerful for my liking. My mind started to wonder about the prophecy and if it was true, did these special beings that we have only ever heard about return? I just shut that explanation down, we will find a way for Ares and his brothers to submit to me, the easy way or the hard way. The ambush started and I had to play my part to keep suspicion off of me including all my allies, we fought like nothing was in the mist, even killing a few rogues and capturing others. I heard a growl as pain shot through my chest, Lily was hurt and I needed to find her but I couldn't move, my wolf submitted to Ares. "What the f**k just happened?" I was so shocked as I saw him walking with Michelle in his arms but it wasn't him, it was his vampire, the mark of an ancient Vampire King was glowing on his forehead and I was speechless.

I looked at Elijah, who even bowed to him and his second-in-command, I needed answers but now was not the time. Amon mind-linked me and let me know a lot of our allies were killed as reports rolled in from other packs, attacking Alpha Ares was a mistake. He was two steps in front of us and I needed to regroup, I needed to find the source of his power. There is no record of him and his brothers being born in the supernatural realm, they were made and I need to know who was powerful enough to pull this off. I will not lose my Kingdom, which I worked so hard for, I need to play it safe and find their weakness. I walked over to Lily, who the pack doctor saw as she was healing already, I watched Ares bring his mate back to life and people gave him the knee, I'm losing favor with my subjects. I need to befriend him and try a different approach just like I did with Aidan so long ago, my daughter's marriage is the way, whether it's Tennison or Sky Valmore, she will help me bring his empire down and he will work for me.

Barron

I saw Sophia at the Luna Ceremony and she was beautiful, Lark was doing her own thing but for some reason, I couldn't keep my eyes off of her. Seth was smitten with her, you could tell, he held her so lovingly, so protective and I was happy for her, I was happy that she found someone to love her as much as I did and it was working out. After the wedding and Luna Ceremony, we headed out to where the party was being held, Sophia walked over to me and asked me to talk in private, so we headed over to a private area and she asked me about Sapphire. I told her everything about our daughter handing her another picture of her celebrating her birthday a few weeks back and she smiled saying, "You and Lark are taking good such good care of her, thank you, Barron," and we hugged. I held her so tight as we breathed in each other and I placed a kiss on her cheek before she turned to go back to her husband. I could have sworn, I sensed someone else but when I turned around and listened again, it was quiet so I went back to the party.

The evening was going so well until I was notified about an ambush when Rowe smiled because he loved a good fight and I mind-linked him, "Please, don't kill Roman yet, but we can kill everyone else," and he said, "Bummer, I could make it look like an accident, but as you wish father," before we smell the rogues changing into our bears heading to fight. I looked at Lark next to me and Polly, these women were not playing as we barrel through the rogues taking them out. I heard a scream and the need to bow and submit, we all did, Rowe looked at me and I said, "It's not me." We turned to see Aidan carrying his mate in his arms, she was dead and I felt bad that Roman succeeded but this was not going to end well for him and we waited. Ty and Drax came forward as Aidan's eyes glowed placing their hands on his shoulder as if to give him a power boost but it was something else. Toffe knelt between us as his eyes glowed, they were in a trance and we surrounded Toffe to protect him. The shock on all our faces when we heard that he brought Michelle back from the dead and we knew then, that Roman was in deep s**t.
