Chapter 13: Awakening

Two Years Later

I was looking through my window from my office looking at the lighted bridge after the news that Sophie had just given birth to her son with Alpha Seth. They kept it from Ravena until he was about three months old, I was genuinely happy for her that things were working out and Seth was a happy new father. Lark lost our child a few months back, she was broken up about it, but I told her, "We could always try again." The pains started happening again, which caused a miscarriage, I was hurt, but s**t like this also happens. Polly and Levi were still having the secret love affair, she got pregnant and had an abortion for fear of what would happen if Roman found out, this time they assured me that they would be more careful. Clarke was imprisoned for six months and upon release our relationship got worse, his hatred for me increased, and I chased his girlfriend out of town which pissed him off but she was bad news.

He became a raging alcoholic and womanizer, he hated Lark, and my parents tried getting through to him but he just wasn't the same old Clarke. I demoted him to Head Warrior, so he could take his aggression out of the office and promoted Nolix as my Gamma, it enraged him more. However, these past few months, he has been quiet and focused on his new role, I had no complaints there so maybe this was the wake-up call he needed. The Elders are pushing for banishment but I wouldn't do that to Clarke, I still had faith that he would come around and open up about his problems. Rowe was in Elivra on business and won't be back for two weeks, he has accepted Levi as his mother's boyfriend although it was a big secret among us, no one knew not even the Elders. I had fallen in love with Lark completely and although I kept putting off our marking and mating, we spent plenty of time together, my daughter called her mum now and it is just working out for us.

There was a storm approaching tonight, I felt it in my bones and I called Lark to let her know that I would bring home takeout so we could spend the night together cuddling. My secretary buzzed me to let me know that Alpha Seth was here to see me and I let him come up, he didn't have an appointment so I wanted to know what this was about. I smelled him before I could say anything, it was Roman and Seth, I bit my jaw to hide my disdain before I said, "What do I owe the pleasure of your presence, my lord?" Roman sat down and said, "We are here on business," I looked at him keeping Leif calm because I wanted to rip his head off. He looked at me with a smirk and said, "I know we have history but this is important and I would also like you to meet, Alpha Seth Bourdeaux, Sophie's husband."

Alpha Seth said, "King Barron, the Bear King, I've heard so much about you from my father-in-law, he had pleasant things to say about your business." I looked at him and said, "Say what you want or get out, no offense to you, Alpha, but I get edgy when there are not-so-friendly people around," looking Roman in the eyes. He linked me, "I know this burns you, we just needed a portion of your land near Faeora for our trade routes, it will be profitable and I could offer up my other daughter to you, she looked like Sophie." I stared at him holding my tongue and replied, "Does your wife approve?" Knocking the smirk off his face, rumor has it, Lily has been separated from him living on a different side of the mansion. After they left, I was angry that he was on my property without notice, I called my secretary, Esmerelda, and fired her and the security for allowing that creep into the building. She was supposed to be on top of these things and if I can't trust her, she can leave. I could smell Sophie on Seth and it was infuriating but I had let her go a long time ago, she is nothing but a distant memory, and our daughter was the best thing that came out of our secret love affair.

Issy was here helping me with my three-month-old son, she was so in love with him and I could see she would be a great mom, I hope she gets a chance to be with her mate. Seth love his son, and he was happy when he found out I was with his pup, Noelle hated it, she hadn't warmed up to Seth or Lennox as yet and I doubt she ever will but it was okay. Seth never saw my wolf, we would run when no one was around, so we could be at peace. The people in the pack would greet me on occasion, but I mostly kept to myself doing my Luna duties when the time came. Seth's secretary, Amy, migrated to Elvira for a few years because I was told she was rejected by her mate, and didn't want to be around him. I never knew who her mate was but I know rejection is painful and not easy to get over, it took me a long time to get over Barron and I am still not over him completely.

I think about him sometimes but that is a distant memory of long ago, Issy brought me out of my thoughts saying, "It's mom's birthday party, you should come." I said, "No thank you," she said, "It's been years, you can't still be mad at Mom." I said, "True, I am furious, I don't care much for Mom or Dad, I did what Dad wanted, I got married and produced an heir, just what my husband paid for." Issy went home after a long day and I was settling down to go to bed, Seth had worked late as he visited my father, they had invited me over for months but I refused. Seth would go without me to apologize, I didn't care for my parents or my husband, and I refused to give him my heart, that was a promise I made. Kyan had informed me that mom moved into a separate wing of the Palace since I severed my parental bond with my parents, I didn't care honestly, not like it helped the situation.

I was stuck in a loveless marriage with nowhere to go or run, my parents weren't safe and I was sure that my husband was into some shady s**t, his nice guy persona never fooled me. I still wasn't attracted to him or liked him much but I respect him as his Luna should, as a wife should, and I enjoyed the s*x on occasion when I was in the mood. I looked at my son's picture and hope that I get all boys, women have no say in Ravena, they are ponds for status and power, love doesn't matter here and someone always has ownership of you. My father made it that way and I hate him, I dream about finding a second chance mate but with Seth's mark, it was impossible. I know Barron will be married soon and have a family of his own and I am happy that he has moved on, at least he gets to love again.

I was in bed and there was a bad thunderstorm outside, according to the weather channel, it was happening all around Ravena but heavier over in Frogger Forrest. Seth came home and got in bed, I didn't realize he had entered the room looking at the raindrops that hit the glass door on the balcony. I felt a kiss on my shoulder and I closed my eyes because I wasn't back on birth control yet, I knew what he wanted but I didn't care anymore, I was his broodmare, his to f**k, his do as he pleased, so I turn around and he got on top of me kissing my neck and pinching my n*****s. I was in my long state of sleeping and learning all the things that I needed to know about our newfound strengths and power that we would have. We had waited long enough as I felt myself stronger than before, I also felt hunger, hunger for revenge for what Roman did to us. We lay here healing, studying all the species in Ravena that we will have power over, I also know who helped create the spell that kept us from crossing over. I also saw the lives of the first and second Supremes, so we know their story, and those mistakes won't be made again. We are all merged into one and since our wolves got their memories back, they remember their life as the second Supremes and how it ended.

They work well together and since our journey now begins, no one is safe as we right the wrongs in Ravena. We are blood brothers, real brothers, and even in death, we remain brothers to the very end, our first mission when I wake is to find Toffe so we can be complete, hopefully, he isn't dead because we would have to find a way to reincarnate him. I felt my Lycan, King said, "Wake up, vengeance is ours," I slowly opened my eyes and adjusted them after seeing sunlight peep through holes in the tomb's ceiling. I felt stronger than before, and we could see more clearly in the dark, I loved it, but we also realized it wasn’t a dream, Roman did kill us and the moon goddess gave us a task to fulfill.

Drax jumped up and just started laughing and said, "It’s all true, Roman double-crossed us," I nodded 'yes' to him and waited for Ty to wake but the i***t said, "It's cold, where is the blanket?" We laughed because Ty loves his bed and would kill you if you woke him up early, Drax said, "There is no more time to sleep, pretty boy, we have wolves to kill." We looked around the tomb until we saw a tunnel and Drax dragged Ty off the slab he was on and said. "Wakey, wakey, pretty boy." He groaned and we followed the tunnel out to a clearing, the sun was high in the sky, so it was probably midday. The smell in the atmosphere was different, Ty and Drax's eyes grew black with veins under them, and their fangs started to protrude out of their gums, I felt the same thing as them and said, "We are not alone."
