Chapter 27: Failed Mission

Roman

I was at the mansion waiting for good news, Lily and my daughter were in the pool having a grand old time and it felt great. Kyan was at the conference but I wasn't worried about him. He knew how to take care of himself like the man I raised him to be, Kyan was my pride and joy. I remember the day Lily gave birth to him and I was so happy, not because he was heir to the throne but because I wouldn't have to fulfill my promise to Alpha Seth and give him my firstborn daughter. When I had my twin daughter although I was happy I knew this wasn't going to end well for Sophie and despite what anyone thinks, I love my kids. I got a notification and checked my phone, Axel said, "Kevin f****d up," and I threw my phone across the room. I should have hired the famous Elite Team but no one knows who they are and they always get the job done. I called Seth immediately and he said, "I heard Roman, and I will look into it," I said, "Get it done, I want Rowe's head as proof," and hung up. I headed down to the pool to hang out with my wife and daughter, hoping no one knew about that hit on Rowe.

I played it safe for a year letting those savages feel I forget how they embarrassed me, I will have Polly taken and sold into slavery but she is hard to track lately. After a nice day at the pool, I went into my office and saw on the news that the Valmore Tower was finished and Alpha Ares was going to have a ball to celebrate its opening. I called Eric and Drogo to find out what I had to do to get an invitation since the brothers were putting off meeting me. Erik had other personal stuff he was dealing with about his daughter's future mating with King Cayden, her coronation is coming up as well. I left to go meet Erik as he found a way for me to meet with Alpha Ares and hopefully not the way Axel went about things because he was almost killed by his younger brother, Drake, by going to his girlfriend's office. Erik notified me about offering up Issy to Tennison Valmore for a treaty but another Alpha named Alpha Marshall had asked for her hand since things worked out with Sophie. I had promised him I would do it, I was just killing time, then I would let her know about it and give her a few months to get to know him.

However, I had promised Lily to let Kyan and Issy find love on their own but I know these treaties are more important, Kyan would be difficult but Alpha Suarez's daughter is beautiful and would make a fine Queen one day. Lily walked into the bedroom sensing me on the balcony and put her arms around me, I smiled and asked, "Where is Issy? I need to talk to her about something important," Lily said, "She left to go to see Kyan and then Sophie, so she will be gone for at least a week." I said, "Okay, we have time for ourselves and I will talk to her when she gets back," picking her up as she wrapped her legs around me and I kissed her. She moaned in my mouth and I got hard when she said, "I will get an invite for you, I know you are worried bout this," and I smiled looking at my love tossing her on the bed before I ravished her over and over again until we were both too exhausted to move. I opened my eyes and it was late, Lily was not in bed but I knew she had left the room not too long ago as I still picked up her scent that I love so much. I got a link from Axel that he has returned and it was not easy getting out of Ironside as Silas has it locked down because of the incident.

I headed to the office where he was waiting on me and I asked him, "What happened?" He said, "I was a distraction for our hired guns so they could get in place but the idiots fire on everyone instead of getting a sniper and taking him out directly, the good news is, I think his girlfriend died, the bad news is, he is still alive and Barron will not take this likely if he finds out who was the target." I knew he was right but I was confident that he wouldn't find out that I was the one who placed the hit on my son and smiled saying, "Don't worry, we will try again when things blow over, now let's focus on getting an invite to the Black and White Ball, I also need you to find out everything on the Valmores," and he nodded before leaving my office. I promise to kill my abomination soon but I have bigger fish to fry and will deal with him at a later date, the bears are not my priority yet because if I can get the Valmores as allies, I will take out Barron and his whole bloodline. Axel was out the door to do as I said, then I went down to the kitchen where Lily was preparing a meal for us and I smiled saying, "We have chefs for that," and she said, "I love cooking from time to time," and we sat down to eat together.

Two Days Later

I was in a private meeting with Aidan and the rest of our Allies about the upcoming ball to celebrate them finally being legitimate in the business world. The uncovering of the Valmore Tower was going to be spectacular which was a magnificent piece of architecture with all the latest technology available. He also had penthouses at the top for him and the three floors below are for Ty, Drax, and the recently rescued Toffe from Roman's prison. I couldn't believe he had the kid locked up all this time because no one knew where to find him or if he was still alive. Ty's mother disappeared along with Drax's parents, no one could track them down either, it's not like we didn't try finding them, it's just that every lead turned into a dead end and then random things in our lives were more prominent and they fell on the back burner. Ty wasn't angry at us because the way things got turned upside down after they were killed, had everyone in a loop at Roman's betrayal. Everyone in this room trusted Roman and was good friends with him, we wanted to band together and kill him but we knew Aidan and the others would be back and wanted revenge, so we kept the peace but his time was running out.

After Drax read Davina's blood doing the investigation, we knew the hit was for my son, because they were aiming at him and just shot everyone else to make it look like it was random people to not start a war between us and the Shifters. Right away, I knew this had Roman written all over it and we let Axel leave thinking he had accomplished escaping Ironside. We also knew that he didn't work by himself, he had help and they decided to move up their timeline and we were going to help Ty and Drax start ending their enemies and betrayers, Aidan was ready to get his throne back and we couldn't wait. First, the Ball was coming up and that would be their coming out society party, they going to start winning the people over and dismantle Roman's empire slowly. After the meeting, everyone knew what was their part to play, Michael was talking to Drax, if we didn't know any better, we would have thought those two were a couple before he died but their friendship is gold. Michael was away for a few years and came back just in time for the action, we also discussed Cayden's mating and upcoming coronation for Allison as we were all invited.

The supremes were getting stronger every day as I understand new powers unlock at random points, imagine the shock when I told Polly about Rowe's wolf side being dormant all these years and would awake soon hopefully. Rowe would also be a very strong hybrid because of it and I was excited for him, the two mates thing threw us off although it was not unheard of as our great, great grandfather had two mates we just figured it was a one-off thing in our bloodline but Rowe got it. Polly hated that he was going to be a part wolf because his father was, well Roman, Aidan was furious when he found out about Polly as he loved her like a little sister and couldn't believe Roman would do that to her. However, we are speaking about Roman, he got his father's genes alright, he was rotten to the core and I hope he burns in the underworld when he gets there. Polly was going back to Elvira with Levi for a few days and offered Rowe and Davina to go with her and I gave him the time off to do so. We, however, all headed to Elvira as Aidan was going to perform a private ceremony for Rowe and Davina, he will also hide their marks from the public until we change the law in a few months.

I was dressed in my best excited to mate and mark, Davina, she was being catered to by the Elves as it is tradition but it will also be a private affair with Emile, Levi, and Jared in attendance along with my family and her sister. We wanted to keep it small and private for now as it was a secret, my mother and Levi will hold off on their mating as their union would be a state affair. Addison places Davina on some magical birth control because we can't afford for her to get pregnant yet and I wouldn't have to worry about pulling out of her which can be exciting or hard depending on the mood. I was still shocked that Davina turned out to be my fated mate but I was completely in love with her, even before the bond. I was so scared that I would have lost her and I was grateful to Ty for saving her life, she will not die so easily once she wears my mark, in a way she would be protected more. He said, "Good thing she didn't die because I wouldn't have been able to bring her back," and I was more than grateful. I was at the private alter by the Gazebo where only us were waiting and I watched her walk down the aisle with a tiara made specifically for her, she became a Princess once we were finished married and mated.

The private affair was so intimate between us as we danced together by the small pond, everyone was happy and my mother shed a tear seeing me finally mated. They all love Davina, and Sapphire was running around on Clarke's back as he was in bear form and she loved it. I hated Barbie but she was keeping Clarke happy so we let her be, however, she was not allowed at the wedding for security reasons. My parents were happy, Aidan placed a spell on Clark and Sapphire so that they would forget this moment once they left here until the law was changed for security reasons. Davina looked at me and said, "I would have tried to save you a thousand times over, I love you so much, Marrow," and she was the only one who called me that and calmed the beast within. I kissed her saying, "Thank you, but don't ever do that again," and we both giggled. I was going to mark her later on our miniature honeymoon, Emile gave us private quarters in the Palace as we would spend the entire week here. However, I was going to make sure that whoever did this, whoever was hired to kill me, died a painful death whether it was by my hand, my father's hand, or the Supremes.
