Chapter 6The stairs were relentless. Cruel. Vicious, with edges that could bite, and the flat landing below like a tombstone slab. They’d put mats down, since a decent amount of their stunt team would end up going over rails or at the bottom of the steps. But those weren’t a guarantee. And Dylan hadn’t been prepared to fall. He landed with a sound Matthew would hear in nightmares forever. Heavy. Dull. Sudden. He didn’t move. Lying still. On his back. Head turned to one side. Eyes shut.
