Natalie stood on the deck looking out at the bonfire on the beach and all the revelers dancing and drinking. Vince stood beside her, his arm draped over her shoulders. They were enjoying a nice red wine together. Londo walked up and leaned a hip on the glass balustrade and tickled Natalie lightly with his fingertips, on her hip where a bit of skin was showing between her shirt and her jeans. She looked at him and grinned. Vince scowled but dropped his arm as Natalie leaned into Londo’s chest.
“So, you’re not going down there?” He asked.
“No, dear one, I’m not…but by all means go enjoy yourself.”
“Thanks.” He said but he didn’t move and wrapped his arms around her waist.
“Why aren’t you going to go down there, you were invited?” Daniel said also coming up and standing by the rail with beers in his hand and handed one to Londo.
“Too many humans, dearest, it would be irresponsible of me because Cassie would want me to sing.”
“Is it the humans? Or him?” Vince growled as he stared out at the bonfire as he leaned on the railing.
“Him?” Natalie asked looking at Vince with a sideways glance.
“Don’t tell me you haven’t seen him standing there…” Vince indicated discreetly at a tall figure illuminated by the bonfire.
Natalie scowled “He was the reason I was invited so best not to go…”
“Is that him?” Londo said “Tall bastard…looks the same height as me…”
“f*****g demon, look at him.” Daniel growled. “Pure blood.”
“Boys…cut it out…he’s a man standing on a beach watching a bonfire.” Natalie reprimanded them. “You know I don’t like jealousy.”
“Only for your own selfish reasons…” Vince grumbled and stood up straight, folding his arms.
Natalie turned and faced him, putting a hand on his cheek. “You know you’re my main guy, Vince. What would I ever do without you? Now stop it.”
Vince looked down at her and smiled. “Yes, mistress.”
Londo curled his arms back around her waist, resting his head over her shoulder. “But I’m your favourite,” He breathed in her ear. Natalie laughed and reached up and put a hand on his cheek as he nuzzled her hair.
“Stop.” She chuckled as Londo stood up and leant against the railing looking out. Natalie reached up on her tip toes and kissed Vince on the lips then and looked at him smiling. Vince wrapped his arms around her tightly and kissed her back pushing his tongue into her mouth and kissing her deeply as she wrapped her arms around his neck and he lifted her off her feet slightly.
“I’m pretty sure he’s watching, you guys.” Londo said then.
Natalie broke off the kiss. “What?”
“He suddenly drew himself up and folded his arms.” Londo indicated with a wave of his hand holding the beer bottle. He put an arm around Natalie’s shoulder and drew her into his side and kissed her hair. “Let’s make him really annoyed…” He started sucking her neck.
“f*****g hell.” Vince growled deep in his throat. “I knew it, I’ll kill him.”
“Calm down.” Natalie ordered. “All of you.” She saw they were all standing staring out at the guy, the menace in the air was palpable. “Now!”
They all reluctantly turned away from the beach. Natalie however, stared directly at Mikhail and she knew, even from this distance, that he was indeed looking at her. She clenched her jaw and flipped him the bird then turned her back on him and leaned back on the glass balustrade.
Vince laughed. “Oh, very mature.”
Londo and Daniel chuckled as Natalie screwed her face up at Vince. “Shut up.”
“What is with him anyway?” Daniel asked.
“Who the f**k knows, who the f**k cares.” Natalie said as she watched Vlad come through the lounge and walk up to them. He saw the bonfire party and his eyes lit up.
Natalie folded her arms as Vince growled at Vlad. “You are f*****g dreaming, pup, if you think you’re going out there!”
Vlad went to say some smart ass comment but Londo and Daniel both growled in warning. Vlad changed his mind and looked away, stuffing his hands in the pockets of his hoodie.
“Good boy.” Natalie said smiling. “See, you can control your impulses. I think maybe this might be the right place for you after all.”
“I’ll be the judge of that.” Vince growled.
Natalie stepped over to Vlad and looked him in the eye. He gritted his teeth as they locked eyes with each other, he started shaking and finally relented to the pressure she was putting on him with magic. He fell to his knees in front of her. Londo laughed and walked round behind him pulling his head back and to the side, exposing his throat.
“Londo…” Natalie said quietly.
Londo looked up at her. “What?”
“Not with people watching dear one.”
“Is that stalker still watching?” Daniel looked back out at the beach. “Oh, shit.”
“What is it?” Vince said turning also. “f**k!” He spat.
Natalie grimaced but didn’t turn around.
“That sister of his has spotted you…she’s coming this way with a group of tasties.” Vince growled.
“Just behave yourselves, remember she’s a demon.” Natalie said and crouched down to Vlad, still on his knees being held by Londo.
“Go with Londo, dearest…he’s hungry.” Natalie stroked his cheek affectionately then took his hand and helped him up. Londo let him go and stepped up to Natalie.
“Thank you, baby girl.” He wrapped his arms around her hugging her to his chest, then leant down and kissed her.
“Go now, Londo, but not too much, okay…he’s not used to it.” Natalie kissed Londo on the mouth again. Londo grinned and walked off pushing Vlad in front of him.
“Natalie! Oh my god! Is that you? Do you live here?” Cassie’s voice rang out from below the deck.
Natalie grimaced and turned. She stepped over to the balustrade and leaned on it looking down.
“Cassie.” Natalie said curtly. Natalie saw Cassie flinch.
“Look, I’m sorry about yesterday, it was a….um…misunderstanding.”
“That’s an understatement.” Natalie scoffed.
Cassie and her friends were all staring at Vince and Daniel who were standing on either side of Natalie. Their eyes went wide when two good looking guys in security uniforms suddenly appeared and stared down at them too.
“So, do you live here?” Cassie asked again.
“When it’s convenient.” Natalie said vaguely.
“Oh, okay…will you join us?” Cassie asked pleading.
“No, I don’t think so.” Natalie said “I don’t really make a habit of consorting with de….” Natalie looked at her friends, some seemed human. Cassie got the meaning though.
“But, I just saw one…” She said tartly. “…two” She glanced at Daniel, who grinned down at her and put his arm around Natalie’s waist and drew her into him.
Natalie grinned a hideous grin down at the girl. “Don’t try me, Cassie. You don’t know who I am!”
Cassie seemed confused. Her friends seemed terrified. They backed off giving excuses to Cassie and went back to the bonfire. Cassie, however, felt she needed to prove something and stayed looking up crossly. Vince folded his arms. “Oh, this will be good.” He muttered.
Suddenly out of nowhere, Mikhail was behind Cassie and put his hands on her shoulders and spun her round to face the bonfire. “Stupid girl!” He growled deeply.
Natalie’s eyes widened in surprise as Mikhail looked up at her, glancing briefly at Vince and Daniel first, but then locking eyes with her. It literally took her breath away to look at him. They stared at each other for a moment, until Cassie whispered something to Mikhail, he shook his head.
“My apologies for my sister.” He turned and marched her away quickly.
“Oh, that was disappointing…” Daniel said as Vince just stared after Mikhail balefully.
“I’m actually glad he showed up and got her out of here, it was about to get messy.” Natalie said. She noticed both guys staring after Mikhail. She turned and reached out and put an arm around both their necks. “Come on, I think it best if we go inside.”
Mikhail was completely overwhelmed by what he had seen on the beach house deck. Of all the places on earth why did Cassie have to pick right outside her place. Watching her kiss one guy, then another, while a third was on his knees and a forth there as well…but he could feel the clear authority that she gave off with them all that she was clearly the one in charge…who the f**k was this woman and why did he keep getting the mate vibe whenever he looked at her. Surely she wasn’t…
“What the f**k, Mikhail!” Cassie pouted.
“What the f**k indeed, Cassie, she was about to kill you!”
“No way!” Her eyes went wide and her face paled.
Mikhail clenched his jaw. “I don’t know what she is but I could feel her intention towards you.”
“I thought you said she was a demon?”
“That’s what I thought when I first saw her…now I’m not so sure…but she’s obviously figured out we are.”
“Yeah…” Cassie dropped her head sulkily.
“Wow, man that was intense…” A guy came up to them.
Mikhail looked at him curiously. He was obviously a low level demon friend of Cassie’s.
“Do you know who she is?”
“What? You don’t? Oh, man, you’ve been gone too long, brother.”
“I’m not your brother.”
“It’s a figure of speech, Mikhail.” Cassie said rolling her eyes.
“I know that.” Mikhail growled.
“You’re intense, man...relax.” The guy said
“Who is she?" Mikhail growled again, more menacing.
“Well, she’s many things, man, not to be messed with.”
“If I have to ask you again…” Mikhail stepped closer to the guy.
“No one really knows what she is. She wields magic like it’s nothing, she’s super strong and deadly. Some say she’s an underworld assassin for Hades. But the most important thing for you to know, big guy, is she is a Death Dealer….and not just any death dealer, she’s known as the Angel of Death.”
“f**k me.” Mikhail whispered as Cassie cringed against him.
“A Death Dealer!” Cassie thought she was going to faint.
Mikhail just stared at her a moment then walked off into the darkness.
