Her Broken Euphoria

Chapter 01

"You're going to Switzerland this coming week?"

I smiley nod my head to my best friend, who's with me right now. We're here now in the Lamberton Conservatory in Reservoir Avenue to stroll around. We rarely met because she was busy with their family business that she was already handling. After we graduate from college, she takes her father's position and runs their business with the help of her parents.

We're not the same path that we take. Chastity now handles their family business while I am still pursuing my passion for painting. I want to be an artist, but my parents won't let me because they want me to be one of them. I sometimes hide from them that I enrolled in a Fine Arts course after I graduated and when they found what I did, especially my father? They warned me that they would ruin the university I enrolled in; that's why I withdrew my application from that university with a broken heart.

I want my knowledge in painting to grow more, but my parents disagree with what I want. They support me on the so-called pass time I'm doing, but they do not want me to get serious about my passion. They told me that business is more important than passion, so I must get rid of the want of pursuing my passion in paintings; that's why they give me time to do it before they need me to take my father's legacy as the famous Architect in our town.

"Uhuh, my other collections of paintings of beautiful views existed in that place. You know that Switzerland is known for their beautiful alps, so I want to draw those alps in my canvas."I said to Chastity while I'm fantasizing about the ideas of the alps while gesturing my hands as if I see it and I painting it.

"What your parents told you about your plan? Are they agree, especially your father. You said that Uncle Felix rushed you to learn the things you need to know as an architect, right?" she asked me, frowning her forehead while staring at me.

I took down my hands in my thigh as I slightly smiled at her.

"They approved my plan to go to Switzerland, but for four days only. Daddy told me that I must go home after the days they given to me in staying in Switzerland because they will hold a party for me that even I doesn't know the purpose of that party they're saying to me."

They just told me that they would plan to hold a party for me, so I must go home immediately after the time they gave to me as I go to Switzerland.

"A party? I think my Dad mentioned that party that your parents will organize. Dad mentions too that the familia of Thompson will be part of that party."

I raised my eyebrow at what Chastity told me. My parents don't mention that part to me. Why the Thompson's have part of the party that my parents supposedly plan just for me? Should I ask them about the Thompson?

"You didn't know about that?" Chastity asked me without a curious look, so I shooked my head at her.

"No, Mom and Daddy didn't mention to me about the involvement of Thompson's family in the party that they're planning for me. I just found out about that just now, from you." as I told her.

"Oh! Maybe because the Thompson family is one of the big clients of your father, right? I think Thompson's only heir was an architect too, and he graduated from the same college as us, but I barely know about him or his face."

"I know that too, but even me doesn't know or meet the only heir of Thompson's family. My family just had a dinner date with them, but their sole heir didn't show himself."

I remembered that night when we met with them for a family dinner date because they talked about my father's projects right now. If I remember that night, Mr. Harry Thompson wanted my Dad to build the most prominent building for their empire as their business was growing bigger.

"He's mysterious for something, but I heard with his classmates in college before that he was so handsome but had a not-so-good attitude. Kindly not fit my type and your type either; we liked men with a gentleman's heart and men with good quality and good attitude." Chastity said that I slightly laughed about it.

"Hey! Why are you laughing at me!"Chastity scolds me while tapping my right shoulder.

"Nothing, we may be a hopeless romantic, but I think that man you were saying with good qualities and a good attitude is hard to find. All men that you will see right now are not trustful enough in terms of a relationship. They cheated most of the time."  As I told her when Chastity hugged my right arm and leaned her head on it before we walked away from the conservatory, we were right now.

"I believe, Aliana, that we will find the man with good qualities and a good attitude that was hard to find in the perfect time. Maybe you'll find your destiny when you go to Switzerland, and if that's happen called me right away." Chastity reminder for me that made me smile.

"Okay, I'll call you if I found a rare man with good qualities and a good attitude we're talking about right now. But I think I can't see him in Switzerland because I'm busy painting at that time." As I joked to Chastity, that made her start reminding me to be cautious in my surroundings because I might not see the man for me that I believe that I will not see in Switzerland because my attention will only focus on the reason I go there, and it's because of painting.

I may be a hopeless romantic that wants to find love from a particular man, but for now, I should focus myself and my time on my passion, for its going to be lost on me when my parents call me to do what they think the best for me as their daughter. I'll focus my mind only on my travel to Switzerland before thinking about our business and the party they will hold for me without saying the main reason for planning it.
