From the tarmac, they still traveled for less than an hour until they reached their destination, the Municipality of Gandara. Instead of going to the town proper where the other delegates are, their driver, Romnic took them to Barangay Diaz, where the mayor’s ancestral house is located.
The road along the town towards the barangay was paved but then, they made a turn towards the dirt path, into the thick forest. It was dark and they couldn’t even see anything through the window.
