Senior Year

1389 Words
A year has passed since that stay with their mother’s tribe and Shanaia learned the deadly ballet. Now, Shanaia, Zander, and Crane are seniors and their popularity has risen, especially since those humans who came to the party in the previous year were compelled to think that they had the best kind of party. And were the ones responsible for that party, so the humans are quite grateful to them. Only the supernatural kids remembered what really happened during that night. Some were traumatized, especially those who were too young to witness such an attack, while the others treated it like just any other experience. For Zander who was the party’s organizer and the person who chose the no man’s land as its venue, he was guilty. There was so much blood that night and it wouldn't happen if he didn’t choose that location. He not only endangered his friends and family but also those humans who just wanted to enjoy themselves. Now that they are in their senior year, Zander toned down being the campus’ party IT boy, but Shanaia gained more popularity since she grew more beautiful. Her blonde hair was like gold threads that shone against the sun. Her every move is like she is dancing and even her walk looks like she is gliding that most boys in the school try asking her out. But of course, her brothers, cousin, and friends are always there to block them. Despite all that happened, they still continued to be cheerful and just enjoyed their last year of high school. Because of that, they vowed to attend a party if there is one as it is their last chance before graduating. And when the senior swimming team organized one, Jake got hold of that information and he went to find the others to share the news. He immediately saw Sera and Seb, and he told them the news. “We should go!” Sera exclaimed. “We should,” Seb said and they all looked at him. “What? It's finally my chance to join you guys,” he said. “Should we tell Zander?” Sera asked and they all looked at each other. Because of what happened last year, Zander stepped away from partying. “Let’s just tell him and blackmail him after,” Jake said, and then the others agreed before they went to find Zander. When they found him, he was in the student’s lounge, doing his papers. They rushed towards him and Jake called. “Hey!” Then they joined him at the table and sat around him. “What are you up to?” Sera asked. Zander gave them a dumbfounded look before answering. “Can’t you see the papers I am working on which you two should be working on as well,” Sera rolled her eyes. “You’re no fun,” Sera whined. “Tonight, the boys from the swimming team are having a party. We should go.” Jake told him and Seb nodded. “Yeah, Mikee is going.” That is when Shanaia and Crane came into the lounge and joined them. “Hey heard about the party?” Shanaia asked as she sat down next to Sera. “I do now,” Zander mumbled. “Come on, cousin. It’ll be fun.” Crane chirped, patting Zander’s shoulder. Zander sighed as he put down the pen he was using and looked at his friends. “I am on brother duty with Zari since we have no training today,” Zander told them. Jake leaned forward from across the table. “The more reason you should go; you have no training. If it’s Zari and Calie you are worrying about, we can bring them.” Jake said and that’s when Zander turned to him with a disbelief look on his face. “Are you freaking kidding me? Do you wish to get me incinerated by my parents and grandparents?” Zander stressed. Jake sighed, shaking his head. “Of course not, but I’m pretty sure they would love to be there,” Jake said wiggling his eyebrows. Shanaia watched them as the others tried to convince Zander to come with them to the party. She understood why Zander was hesitant about going; what happened last year is a big thing for him especially since he is the one that initiated it. But for Shanaia, they are in their senior year, they are graduating high school, and soon will be embarking on different paths, and different universities for their future careers. They should take this chance and enjoy senior year while they still can. In the end, they were able to convince Zander to come. ***********************************. Around six in the evening and everyone just had dinner. The adults and their parents were called for a meeting in the castle. Shanaia was getting ready in her room with Sera. They are applying highlighter on each other’s faces at that moment. “We are so going to enjoy this party,” Sera said. “Did you hear where the location is?” Shanaia asked and Sera paused as she realized something. “Oh yeah. Jake didn’t tell us earlier,” she said and Shanaia smiled. “It’s by the lake. Since the swimming team organized the party, they said it should be by the water,” Shanaia told her. Then Sera suddenly took a step back and she looked worried. Shanaia furrowed her eyebrows as she looked at her friend. “What’s wrong? Are you worried that what happened last year will happen again this time?” Shanaia asked. Sera looked at her. “Girl, if that will happen, it will happen. I heard the others are extra cautious this time since rogues might appear out of nowhere. We are prepared so I am not worried about that,” Shanaia was confused as she looked at Sera. “So, why are you worried?” “Oh.” Sera took another step back as she made Shanaia look at her outfit. Shanaia looked at her from head to toe and she could tell that her friend was extra hot wearing the red spaghetti dress and stilettoes. “We are going by the lake and I am wearing heels. This wouldn’t do. I need to be comfy and I also need my bikini just in case I need to take a deep,” Sera said and Shanaia giggled. “Well, I am all set. Should I wait for you as you change?” Sera shook her head. “You go ahead with your brothers. I will go with Jake since he’s taking Zander there,” she told Shanaia. “Okay, if you say so.” “I will see you there!” Sera chirped and left Shanaia’s room. Shanaia heaved a deep sigh after Sera left her room. She then went to look in the mirror to fix her hair. And while she was doing so, she thought about what she said earlier about what happened last year. And now she is the one worried. What if it happens again? Fate must have played a game on them as by the end of the night, Shanaia’s worries came true. They were not attacked by rogues but some werewolves from the other territory and school came and gate-crashed the party. Insults and threats were thrown towards each party and soon, fists were thrown out as well. When one of the gatecrashers shifted, all hell broke loose. The pack warriors were quick to come and intervene, and in the end, no one was hurt. But Shanaia and the others were once again called to the Queen’s office. They were scolded extra hard since Zari and Callie were with them. Despite that, Shanaia and the others didn’t regret anything as they enjoyed the party. For Zari and Callie, being outside the castle grounds for the first time in their lives and meeting people is the crème de la crème of what happened that night. While looking at everyone while they were being scolded, Shanaia saw the little smiles on their lips, and it made her feel relieved. Everyone enjoyed it, they were not traumatized like the last time. They grew from it and now she thinks they are all ready for the next chapter of their lives.
