Chapter 16

1047 Words

Craig I fight my wolf as I run, trying my best to keep him from pushing past my mental shields and do something that we will later regret. I don't know how long I run, trying my best to exhaust my body and work off the need to claim her. I run until I can't smell her sweet scent anymore and until my lungs are burning and begging for me to stop. It is only when I know that I am far enough away from her that I allow my wolf to the surface. As soon as I have fully shifted and given him full control, he stops and turns around, following our scent and running to get back to Caylee. I can feel my wolf's urge to get to Caylee and, for the first time in an hour, I think about the fact that I left her alone out there. I know our pack is protected, but there are still some of Damon's pack out there
