Good work, Violet thought. If it saved the others, then anything Chase did to her was worth it. Though if she could get out of it, that would be better. But as Chase placed her up on the highest shelf in the room and then wandered off, humming, Violet thought maybe getting out of it would be harder than she thought. The good thing about being stuck on the shelf was that she could see the entire room clearly, and gather information with which she could plan her escape. The bad thing was she was up very high, with no way to get down that didn't involve cracking her skull. All in all, there was very little for her to work with. If the windows had been open, at least, she could have somehow climbed over to them and out to freedom, but they were firmly closed. She had no choice but to bide h
