Chapter 1: Memories Of The Past

(Sasha POV)

“NO!!! Dad, you can’t leave me like this. What would I do without you?” I looked towards the Pack house…my house burning into ashes in front of me.

“DAD!!!!” I screamed at the top of my lungs, but there was no one to hear my cries. My whole pack looked like a graveyard. The ground was covered with hundreds of our brave warriors, who lost their lives to protect this pack but failed to do so.

“Dad, please!!!” I slowly patted my father’s face but his heart stopped beating and I felt like I also died with him at that moment. I held his hand, which was covered with blood and a locket was clutched in it. I opened his hand and the locket was made of green stone with a wolf’s face etched on it with golden ink.

“It surely belongs to the person, who dare to murder my father,” I mumbled while tears were blurring my vision. I put my head on my father’s chest and started crying my heart out.

I was feeling fear…the type of fear that makes my skin crawl. I was alone…all alone in this whole world. How will I survive alone? Different types of negative situations started coming to my mind. Just a few hours ago…I was happy and satisfied with my life but I didn’t imagine this even in my worst nightmare that my life will turn upside down like this. I combed my father’s hair with my fingers but all of a sudden, I heard the sound of footsteps. I looked around and there was no one left. It means someone came to check. I quickly wiped my tears with the back of my hand and got up from the ground and ran towards the trees of the back garden. I know I have to hide otherwise, they will not hesitate to kill me.

“Check every single corner. If anyone is left alive, then Alpha Daniel Fedorov will bury us with them. I am sure that there will be a feast in Midnight Canine Pack tonight. We will inform Alpha Daniel Fedorov that we wiped the whole Dark Moon from the face of this earth,” The man said and laughed manically. I clenched my fists in anger but their words etched in my mind.

“I will make them regret this attack. I will destroy the Midnight Canine Stone pack as they did to my pack. It will be my gift to my father. His blood will not get wasted,” I promised myself at that moment and looked toward them. They picked up my father’s body and left the pack. I wanted to follow them but I knew, It was too risky. Besides, Now I have a goal to achieve…A mission to complete. I will take revenge of my father. I thought before picking up my backpack and started walking toward the forest that leads to the highway. I don’t know what I have to do now to start my revenge plan, but one thing I knew was that I had to leave this place as soon as possible before they found me.

I got up with a jerk and my whole body was drenched in sweat. I wiped my forehead with the back of my hand and checked the time on my mobile. It was 4 in the morning, so there was no point in going back to sleep now. I quickly got up from bed and entered in the washroom. I entered in the kitchen to make a cup of black coffee for myself. Before I could brew my coffee, I heard footsteps behind me. I didn’t need to turn around to check who it was.

“Sash! Where are you going?” He asked while trying to open his eyes.

“I am going for a run, Lennix!” I answered before picking up my cup. He snatched my cup and started brewing coffee for me.

“I can make a cup of coffee for myself, you know,” he stifled a laugh before nodding his head.

“I didn't need to ask why you are up so early because your answer would be the same,” He said, and I didn’t answer.

“Why are you not ready to take help from a psychiatrist or someone else, who can solve this nightmare problem of yours,” He gave that suggestion to me for the 100th time. And, my answer will be the same as before.

“I don’t need any help, Lennix! I am not a psycho case. Besides, I don’t want to get rid of this nightmare. It helps me to focus on my goal,” He sighed and put the cup in front of me.

“Did you find that information which I asked you for?” He nodded before going back to his room. He came back with his tablet and put it in front of me.

“As we know, These types of pendants belong to the Midnight Canine Pack but It belong to their higher-ups only and they only show or are allowed to show their pendants in the annual ceremony of their pack. The ceremony will be in two weeks and every higher-up will be present there. We can easily spot the person without the Pendant because there should be a tattoo on every higher-up's wrist as well as the pendant. So, the person who will have a tattoo without the pendant will be our target,” He informed me and I nodded while taking a sip from my cup.

“But, they can arrange another pendant. What’s the big deal about that?” I asked.

“Right! I forgot to mention that these lockets are made with special rituals that only one person can have in his whole lifetime. Only men are allowed to have these pendants, not women,” I nodded with a smile.

“Can you please make fake entry passes for both of us?” I asked him and he was surprised for a moment before nodding his head in yes.

“Without a sweat, Love,” I rolled my eyes at his endearment and put the empty cup on the table.

“OK then, I will come back in just an hour,” I answered, and he nodded. He had already started working on his laptop.

"Alpha Daniel Fedorov! I am coming for you. Just wait and watch," I said to myself before starting my run. After running from my Pack that day, I contacted the only friend I made during our training camp, Lennix. Lennix was the beta of his pack but his father hadn't retired yet, so he was free to complete his studies. He not only arranged a residence for me but also helped me to get admission to one of the best universities. After a month, he also shifted into this apartment and we started sharing its rent. He also got admission to the same university, but he was a computer geek while I was learning business management. He never crossed the line of our friendship, but I know he is in this apartment because of me. He helped me so much to upgrade my fighting skills as well as teach me some computer hacks that will help me in my revenge plan. Honestly, I have no idea what I would do without him in my life. His presence was like the Moon Goddess's biggest blessing in my life and I am very thankful to him for every single thing he did for me in the past few years. After just two weeks, I will start my revenge plan and will end the Midnight Canine Pack .
