DAMIEN'S POV

I didn’t understand why she hated me so much and I why I cared that she did, I got back to my office and shut the door and ran my hand through my hair in frustration. 

“So what did she say?” I even forgot that I was going there to talk to her when Haines stormed in again without knocking but he stopped in his tracks as soon as he saw the defeated look on my face

“What happened?” he asked

“Xavier took control” I said referring to my wolf I felt powerless like I was losing control and I hated losing control

“Oh, you know you guys are exactly alike” he said as if my frustration meant nothing to him.

“Who Me and Xavier, Of course we are alike man he is my wolf” I said rolling my eyes

“No I mean Lilly, I can see why the moon goddess thought you would be a perfect match” he teased and I ignored him

“Just keep an eye on her I’ve got work to do, she’s just out of control” I said sitting down and opening my laptop and burying myself in my work as usual.

SCARLET'S POV

I managed to pick the lock on my door when everyone was asleep and lucky for me even the guard by my door was sleeping now, it was early morning hours. I sneaked past him down the corridor and started running as soon as I was out of his sight. Once I got to the ground floor of the house where the kitchen and lounge were located, I spotted two men chatting by the main door and I ducked behind the couch and started crawling toward the main door. I was literally crawling toward them but I had to take my chances else I would be stuck here with that douche bag; I frowned at the thought of him.

I took a coin from my leather jacket and threw it across to distract them and It worked they immediately followed the noise their guns drawn, I ran to the door and outside the house to my bike and hid behind the black SUV to avoid another patrolling guard. I took out my pocket knife and jumped on his back stabbing the side of his neck with as much force as I could until he dropped to the ground. I got off him and wheeled my bike toward the gate hiding behind the many palm trees that were on both sides of the drive way. And as soon as I reached the gate, I heard another car start so I ran and hid behind the tree. When the car was closer, I got on my bike ready to follow the car as soon as the gates opened and lucky for me they did. I was having a whole lot of luck today maybe the moon goddess realized she made a mistake by pairing us. I looked up and mumbled a thank you as I saw the gates open wide I started my engine moved slowly behind the careful to not get noticed when I was finally out the car went right and I went left, it was the opposite direction to where Noah was but I wasn’t going to risk following that car, I stepped of the gas and sped off into the dark night wishing I could see Damien’s face when he discovered I was gone.

When I got home I took a quick bath and headed back downstairs to the payphone to let Noah know I was at home. After ringing him up I went back inside and fixed myself some food and while I was eating Noah burst in and I stood up and threw myself right in his arms and we kissed each other hungrily and I ignore my wolf telling me this was wrong “my name is scarlet” she reminded me and I ignored her, Noah ripped my pajama shorts off and lifted me by the hips as I wrapped my legs around his waist. He carried me to the bed and we both fell on the bed him on top of me he lifted my legs and put them on his shoulders and unzipped his pants and with one thrust he was inside and swiftly moving in and out without fire or passion.

“I missed you” he whispered

“I missed you too” I whispered back “I love you “ I lied to the both of us my wolf was disgusted after a few more thrusts we both came and he collapsed on top of me out of breath.

“so why the f**k didn’t you tell me that douche bag was my mate because I know you knew, I saw how shaken up you were after we met him” I asked him after catching my breath he sighed before responding

“I was afraid of losing you” he said

“You are not losing me, most definitely not to that ass hole” I said kissing him. 

We barely slept that night with Noah finding it extremely hard to keep his hands off me. At one point he asked me if I did anything with Damien I found his jealousy hilarious, but Damien was my mate after all so he was right to be insecure. And if what they said about mates was anything to go by I was probably going to go back to him, I wished there was some sort of spell that I could do on myself to free myself from him. I had to admit though, that kiss did things to me and ever since I shared that moment my wolf had been very restless much to my dismay, stupid mate bond. Why did the moon goddess mate me with him, he was a ruthless narcissist. But I sure put him in this place; I smirked remembering how it felt kicking him. I knew that the worst was yet to come though especially for me, because thanks to Damien Winter was now back and back with a vengeance and I was barely keeping her from taking control and running back to him, she was weak and I couldn’t afford to be weak.

DAMIEN’S POV

When I woke up the next morning I just knew something was off I couldn’t quite put my finger on it but something was wrong, my wolf was restless and he felt like a part of him was missing and he had been pestering me about going to check on Scarlet. I headed downstairs for breakfast but when I saw the chef had prepared nothing good I settled for muesli and yoghurt, after I was done eating I went to my office to get started on some work I had to do and I would’ve stayed there if Xavier wasn’t been such an ass and giving me migraines.  

Around midday I decided to give in to his pleas and go to check on Scarlet, no one had seen her since morning not even Haines or Olivia. I had sent them on an errand so they were too pre occupied, I got to her room and when I tried to unlock it, I was met by an unlocked door which was weird because I could’ve sworn I locked it last night I got in and she was nowhere. I searched everywhere even under the bed she wasn’t there.

“Get in Scarlet’s Room now” I mind linked Haines ignoring the fact that he was probably busy and after a few minutes he was by my side.

“Where the f**k is she?” I yelled running my hands through my hair in frustration and Haines lifted his shoulder just then we both received another mind link from a guard asking us to come outside. 

We headed outside and found a couple of them surrounding something…or someone. It was the night duty guard who had been stabbed on the neck and bled to death, he was carefully hidden behind a bush and he had clearly been dragged there. I looked at all the guards my eyes emitting smoke, I was fuming how the f**k did she elude them.

“How the f**k did this happen?” I asked failing to mask my anger and their silence only angered me more

 “I said how the f**k did this happen?” I roared again startling all of them.

“She got away Alpha” said Leo one of the guards and possibly the strongest we had.

“Make me understand how she did that you are telling me a girl out played you” I said moving closer to him and he backed away

“And how come we are only finding out that she is gone at this time, you deserve to be death... all of you” I said looking at all of them.

“I am sorry Alpha, we will find her” he said dropping his head in shame, he knew he had failed me.

“I am giving you 24 hours to bring her back here” I said storming off to my office and the way I was feeling I could’ve broken everything in my office. I punched the wall and threw some books off the table and even smashed my laptop on the wall. 

My wolf howled and accused me of not being man enough he was adding insult to injury, I wanted her here as much as he did but she didn’t want me what was I supposed to do. I couldn’t be a weakling and beg her to stay with me and I couldn’t show her I wanted her more than she wanted me. He was sure she would come around and he even asked me to make her claim me when we got her back, but how would I do that if she wouldn’t even let me kiss her without punching me.

“What a woman huh?” said Haines as he threw himself on my couch clearly impressed by her but I also had to admit she was impressive

“Don’t start with me man, how did she even bypass our security” I asked confused

“she will make quite a Luna” he said not helping me one bit, I ignored him and continued pacing around the office once they bring her back, I decided I was going to make love to her, although I would not mark her against her will not that I couldn’t I just wanted it to be special and I also knew that once we shared the bed the pull would be too strong for her to resist and it would hurt just to be apart and hopefully soon after that she would go into heat. But all this was just riding on those stupid guards finding her first.

3 HOURS LATER….

It had been three hours since they had gone to find her, I mind linked Lukas to find out how far they had gone with finding her

“Where is she?” I asked

“We…well Alpha we still haven’t found her” he responded

“Find her and don’t come back here until you do” I said in my Alpha voice before cutting the mind link I, this woman was going to be the death of me.
