Rejection doesn't work!

Smirking, the Alpha rises to his full height. “Take her to the medical wing.” he orders. The guard immediately picks me up, but accidentally presses my foot too hard into his side. I let out a whimper of agony. The Alpha quickly latches his hand around the guards arm and growls lowly at him. “Don’t under any circumstances intentionally harm your, Luna. Understand, Simon?” he spits, pushing the guard, Simon, away from him. Gulping, Simon quickly nods his head before turning and fleeing from the room with me in his arms. “I’m sorry, Luna.” he mumbles, bowing his head. I look up at him with wide eyes, anger coursing through my body. “You shot me in the foot!” I yelp. “Yes, I did, but it was an order. I could not defy my Alpha. I said that I was sorry.” he tries to reason. “You shot me in the foot,” I say again, “And all that you can think to say is that you’re sorry?” “Yes, Luna, it was an order.” he repeats, bowing his head again in submission. “Order or not. If you had a heart you wouldn’t have shot an innocent girl in the foot.” I exclaim, wiggling in his hold. “Stop moving, Luna. I may drop you.” he says calmly, tightening his grip. “Like you wouldn’t enjoy it.” I spit, glaring up at him. “I would not. You are my Luna and I want no harm to come to you.” he vows. “You are the one that harmed me. For the last time, you shot in me in the foot.” I say, with a deadly look. He sighs, closing his eyes, “Luna, for the last time, I told you it was an order from my Alpha. I had to oblige or I would splattered all over those walls right now. I did not know that you were my Luna at the time or I would have hesitated.” “For God’s sake! Stop calling me Luna!” I yell, letting out a scoff. “But you are my Luna…” he trails off. “I am not your Luna,” I growl, “Don’t you ever call me that.” “You are my Luna,” he repeats, with a confused look on his face, “You are Alpha Westwood’s mate.” “I am not and never will be that man’s mate. I want nothing to do with him and the first chance I get, I am rejecting him. So, no, I am not your Luna. Do not call me that.” I spit, wiggling in his hold again. “Luna, er…..” he trails off again. “Lisa.” I spit. “Lisa, please stop moving. We will be there shortly. It is quite a long walk from the other side of the house.” he orders. Ever since the conversation with Alexander, Simon’s whole personality has changed. I do not know if it is because he is terrified of Alexander or if he wants to genuinely respect me, but he is putting me on edge. The threats that he had given me the night before still ring through my head and I dare myself not to trust him. He is not a friendly person. He is a monster. Everyone here is a monster. There aren’t any exceptions. “Here we are.” Simon murmurs, as we stop in front of a door with a large red plus painted on it. Pushing open the door, he carefully carries me through and lays me down on one of the beds in the room. “Stay here. I’ll go get the doctor.” he mumbles, before he turns and exits the room. The throbbing in my foot has not died down and my entire leg has begun to get numb. I couldn’t believe that my mate had done that to me. He forced one of his guards to shoot me in the foot. Everyone always told me that mates loved each other. People told me that mates were supposed to protect each other. That they made each feel safe and perfect. In the few minutes that I’ve known my mate, I already know that none of that was true. What had I done to deserve something like this? My mate was pure evil. I was cursed. I have to reject him. My thoughts are interrupted when the door suddenly bursts open and a doctor runs in. He screams out a string of instructions to the nurses standing behind him. They immediately crowd around me and begin poking and prodding at my body. “It’s her foot.” Simon grunts from behind them. He had entered last and moved to lean against the wall by the door. The doctor moves to my feet and inspects them. “Oh my,” he murmurs, “She needs surgery stat!” One of the nurses, scrambles by the door, pulling a machine over to the bed. She takes a mask from the machine and puts it over my face. “Breath deeply and count to ten.” she whispers. 1…...2…….3 My brain starts to go a bit hazy. 4….5…..6 My eyes start to droop and darkness plays with the edges of my vision. 7….8….9 I slip into oblivion before they reach 10. ~~~~~ I awake to the dull beeping of a machine and the smell of antibacterial hand gel. Groaning, my eyes slip open, as I try to sit up, but I immediately flop back onto the bed. My whole body ached. I could see edges of bruises peeking out from under my hospital gown. The scars that maimed my body from the previous three years still remained, but could not be seen as well as the bruises. I still couldn’t believe that I had escaped. The confusion fills my body on how I was able to hold myself together for that long. I was able to run very far and very fast, without having any food in my body. The lashes on my back and the cuts on my stomach from the silver knife are now neatly stitched together. Looking around, I take in all the flowers sitting in various places in the room. Frowning in confusion, I look over at the flowers closest to me. Taking off the tag that lays around the neck of vase, I read what it says. Luna, We hope you get well soon! The Gonzalez Family Furrowing my eyebrows, I put the card back on the vase. Why did they care? They had never met me, as least I don’t think they had. I realize now that it was probably nothing more than an order from Alpha Westwood for them to bring me flowers. But then again, why would he order his pack to provide me with presents? He shouldn’t care, should he? My thoughts are interrupted when the door to my hospital room suddenly opens. Gasping, I try to sit up again, but wince harshly at the stinging in my back and stomach. Ignoring the pain, I grit my teeth and force myself into a sitting position. Laying back on my propped up pillows, I gasp for breath, as the sides of my vision turns black. My eyes close involuntarily and I hear the silent footsteps coming into the room. “Are you okay?” a voice asks. Opening my eyes, I see the devil himself standing in the doorway. “Why do you care?” I mumble, trying to fight against the constant waves of pain. “You’re right. I don’t.” Alexander says, leaning back against the wall by the door. Rolling my eyes, I focus back on trying not to pass out. “So, how’s the foot?” he asks, nonchalantly. Glaring over at him, I snap, “Well it doesn’t have a bullet in it anymore.” He lets out a small chuckle, as a smirk appears on his face. “You know it almost sounds like you’re blaming me for that.” he accuses. I give him a look of complete and utter disbelief. “You can not be serious. You shot me in the foot!” I yelp. “I did not. Simon did.” he says, simply, shrugging. He crosses his arms over his chest, causing the muscles in his biceps to bulge. They momentarily distract me, before a new wave of rage washes over me. “You gave the order.” I growl, narrowing my eyes. “I had to. You see, an Alpha protects his pack from rogues. You were a rogue. I had to do something.” he smiles. My mouth opens and closes, trying to get out the words jammed in my throat. “I was no harm to your pack. A good Alpha attacks the rogues that harm, not ones that are forced in here against their will.” I spit. “Forced? You were forced?” he asks. “I was running from my old pack. I saw your guards, I hid. Simon dragged me over the border. I wasn’t even in your pack. I am innocent!” I yell. “Then you were spying and by law we’re able to take you prisoner.” he brags, raising an eyebrow. My mouth drops open in disbelief. “I’m sure you’ve heard what we do prisoners.” he continues, with a smirk. I gulp, feeling the growing fear in my stomach. My eyes widen as he pushes away from the wall and stalks towards me. He reaches the bed and leans down, placing his hands on the bed on either side of my waist. “My favorite is the silver bath,” he whispers in my ear, “There is just something about the screams of agony and the begging that just gives me such a rush.” Tears well in my eyes, as I realize what my fate will be. Not only was I going to die, I was going to die by the hands of my mate. Just that thought alone, causes extreme pain to flare in my heart. “You’re afraid.” he smirks, pulling away from me and standing by the foot of the bed. My breathing quickens at his discovery and my heart hammers in my chest. “Why?” he whispers, c*****g his head to the side. The tears finally fall and I press my body further back into the bed. I ignore the burning sensation in my back. I had to get away from him. “Please,” I beg, the tears streaming steadily down my cheeks, “Just kill me. Please.” An unreadable expression crosses over his face, as he steps farther away from me. “Don’t t*****e me. Please, I can’t handle it. I’m just an Omega. I’m not worth the effort. Just kill me.” I sob, hoping he’ll do as I say. He closes his eyes and breathes in through his nose. When he opens them again they are a deep black. His wolf had taken over. “We can not hurt you.” the wolf says in his Alpha voice. “Please….” I plead again. “We can not hurt you. You are our mate.” he growls lowly. “You didn’t care before. Why are you pretending to care now?! Just let me die, please.” I nearly shout, with unending sobs leaving my lips. “If you die. We die. We cannot let that happen.” the wolf spits. “You don’t care! You never cared!” I scream, pulling at my hair. “You’re right. I don’t. I never did.” the wolf growls before closing his eyes again. Alex’s brown eyes are back when he opens his eyes again and his face is emotionless. “You’re scared of me.” he states. “Well..I wonder why!” I shout, angrily wiping at the tears slipping down my cheeks. He lets out a small chuckle. “You know, if you’re scared of that. Then you must really be looking forward to the future because that’s not even the worst I can do. Because always remember, Lisa, I am your worst nightmare.” he smirks, walking back over to the door. Swallowing hard, my heart begins to hammer against my ribcage. My breathing turns shaky. “If you’re not going to k-kill me. Then at least let me go back to the cells.” I stutter. He looks back at me with a smile, “Sweetie, you aren’t going back to the cells. You’re staying here, with me.” My eyes widen and my jaw drops in disbelief. “You can’t be serious! I’m not living with you!” I yell. “Well isn’t it just unfortunate that you think that, sweetheart, because yes, you are.” he says, simply. “I reject you then!,” a smirk appears back on his face, “I, Lisa Summers, reject you, Alexander Westwood, as my mate.” “You know…..It’s cute you think that would work,” he chuckles,”I’ll go tell the doctor you’re awake.”
