THE LUNA'S SOUL.

I shook my head and wiped off my tears.

He squatted in front of me properly with a smile and fondled my right cheek. “If you don’t tell me what’s wrong, Aurora, how can I help you?”

“You promised to be back in two days, but you came back in a week.” I complained in a teary tone. “You are always away from home, leaving me in this enormous duplex all by myself. I’m not a grownup, but…” I stuttered. “How…how do you expect me to live here all alone?”

“I’m sorry, love. The photo shoot and the people took my time.”

“Whatever.” I retorted and wiped off my tears properly.

He is always giving an excuse.

“What is it, Aurora?” he cupped my face with a smile.

He knew I still had some words in me to complain about.

“Nothing is wrong, Lake.” I pouted.

“It doesn’t seem that way to me, baby,” he chuckled.

“Leave me alone, Lake.” I yelled at him. “You are always away from home, leaving me all by myself with these nannies and bodyguards that it gets so lonely. I rarely see you except on TV, and it’s not fair.” I explained and continued wiping off my tears and my runny nose.

He chuckled. “Is that why you are crying?!”

“Not funny Lake.” I fumed with a pout.

“Love, I came all the way from Germany because of you, so don’t act like that.”

‘Humph!’ I folded my tiny arms across my chest, not believing his words.

“Baby, come on, you are not doing this to me, aren’t you?” He hugged me and kissed my cheeks. “I’m sorry for leaving for so long, okay, baby?”

“Don’t go away again.” I whined.

“You know I’m always working, Aurora, and I don’t want to disappoint you. But I promise to always come back early. You know, I will hardly fail my promise unless fate changes my plan.” He laughed, but I wasn’t buying his sweet words.

I wouldn’t look at him one bit.

“Here, I got a lot of presents for you, love.” I heard him say those words to me.

My eyes sparkled with excitement as soon as I saw the presents behind him. Instead of getting mad at him, I pushed aside my anger as I ran past him and began unwrapping the presents he had bought for me.

He always does this to lighten my mood. I shouted in excitement as I set my eyes on my favorite Barbie doll.

“You got this for me, Uncle Lake.” I screamed and hugged him so tight with my little hands, he began laughing.

“I knew you would love it. That’s why I brought them for you.”

“Thank you so much, Uncle Lake.”

‘The pleasure is all mine sweetheart.’ he rubbed my long hair with his warm hands and then carried me in his arms.

“Let’s go inside and see everything I bought for you.”

“Yay! Yay!” I screamed in excitement as I jumped into his arms.

“Happy Birthday, Aurora Vargynja,” he whispered in my ears, and my eyes welled with joy as I hugged him.

“Did you think I would forget your birthday, love?” He laughed as I burst out in tears.

Not because I was terribly sad, but it overwhelmed me with so much happiness he was home. He remembered my birthday despite how late it was and brought me a lot of presents.

I love him.

My name is Aurora Vargynja, I’m eight years old and I’m a Beta. I’m from the Vargynja Pack and my uncle is the leader of the pack.

He is powerful and knows how to rule the people without a slight look of fear in him. Everyone fears him, respects him and looks up to him a lot.

And I was one of his admirers and grateful to the moon goddess for giving me such a good Alpha for an uncle, who loves me and cherishes me like his own child.

He was also my hero, who I admired so much that because of the position he was in, he had a lot of enemies who craved for his head every single day.

Everywhere I went, with him was always a dangerous thing to do, because I had to be watchful of my place.

It didn’t matter if I had bodyguards. I still have to be on the lookout. Even my bodyguard could be one of my enemies anywhere, anytime.

Who wants to take my life because they loathe my uncle and will do anything to hurt him through me if they can’t get to him? Even the food we both want to eat have to be cross-checked before eating the food from the maids who prepared them.

You never know, they could get poisoned.

And we wouldn’t want to risk that, at night, about a hundred bodyguards, wolves, especially Alphas and Betas, will always be on patrol to make sure we were safe.

That’s how our life became.

Growing up with my uncle was one of the happiest moments of my life.

He was kind and caring to me, and taught me a lot of things about the rules and regulations of the Vargynja Pack. He taught me to never let life pull me down, no matter what it takes.

His advice always helped me in every step, in any path I took.

It helped me.

He was always there for me and I was never alone for a single day. I was quite a gentle and playful beta. I wanted to be nice and kind-hearted to everyone around me.

Unlike some top-ranking alphas and betas who bully others for their own advantage,

My uncle had taught me to never abuse my power for anything unless it was for my family or I needed to protect someone.

He taught me a lot of things as the first She-Beta from an Alpha family of the Vargynja clan. My uncle is a wealthy Alpha who owns multiple companies, and he’s also an actor too, a celebrity who everyone worships.

I don’t know why he works as an actor when he is wealthy already and can feed five of his generations to come.

It baffles me how he has all the strength to do what he can do, but has time for me as well. He was the best Alpha in my life and being with him has taught me how life can be so rosy.

I turned six when he began hiding me from the eyes of the people just to protect me. That’s why whenever he is not at home, it hurts me and he knows how much I miss him.

Though he is always away from home, he hardly misses any important occasion and will always be present.

Whether it was my birthday or on my graduation day, he would always come to the spot.

He was my everything.

While growing up, I heard he took me in and adopted me as his daughter when my parents died in a car accident and he became the leader of the pack.

Though I never knew what my parents looked like, I wish I knew who they were before they passed away.

I once asked to see their pictures, but Lake told me when the time was right, he was going to show me my parent’s pictures. I took it to heart and continued doing a lot of things to please my uncle.
