“I think that it’s one way of explaining something that is definitely going on. Thousands of people have been murdered here, and that is official. It is also official that they found a mass grave of three hundred foreign workers in the jungle a few years back. These are only people they know about, it is very likely that there are as many again that they don’t even know about, but it doesn’t all have to be to do with the Taliban… it’s a great way of getting rid of a rival or even with an enemy and blame it on the Taliban. That will only account for a few of the murders though, I’m sure.
