Destiny's P.O.V
We sat in the waiting room for an hour, hoping to hear some news anytime soon. Everyone is on edge as the anticipation of events grows.
I find a quiet corner sitting on the floor with my legs crossed and my palms on my knees. Closing my eyes, I clear my mind and bend the light energy around me. Willing it to cacoon me in my meditation. A slight draft of wind encircles me as I draw on more of my power.
'Easy Des,' Duece encourages me. 'Just like that. Slowly build from here.'
I follow her instructions and slowly draw in the energy of my surroundings as to not cause an outage, or drain too much energy of other people. Whenever I meditate I have learned to use borrowed energy as my anchor as to not overwhelm myself. When I first learned this I used to over-exert my self and I would lay comatose for days or weeks at a time unable to pull myself out. My Granny taught me how to control my powers before she passed. As the eldest daughter of my mother's children, I inherited my grandmother's powers. However, my powers surpassed those of my grandmother. This is why, although I am not her eldest granddaughter, I was to be named Mother of all Covens. Of her 13 children and hundreds of grandchildren, I am the one to rule the Wiccan clans. The one blessed with powers, slightly less than the Moon Goddess herself. Even so, my powers compared to China's seem mediocre.
"Hello Destiny," a familiar voice calls out to me. I open my eyes to see the beauty in front of me, that I have missed so much. My smile beams as I look at her face and tears prick my eyes. I jump to my feet and move to her pulling myself into her warm embrace. "Why are you crying?"
"I have missed you so much. So much has happened since you've been gone," I said with a whimper.
"I know, but I am here now. There are things that cannot be explained as of yet, but in time you will understand the path. Fate and time have to work in their own way. This journey will not be an easy one. You must trust your instincts and follow your heart." she replied. Her face plastered with a beautiful smile. She pulled me into a hug and whispered in my ear. "My time with you is short to day Destiny. It is time to return you mate is beginning to worry. Trust me when I say China will make it through. Although it may be hard, do not give up on her."
I nodded my head pressed to her chest. "I won't Granny I will be there no matter what. I promise."
"I know dear. Now go. They are waiting for you. Tell my family that I love them and I am watching over them always." She pulls away. There is a flash of light before she disappears.
"I love you always."
I pull myself from my meditating state slowly. When I open my eyes Collin and Ray are standing before me. Their eyes reflect their concern.
"Are you alright baby?" Collin asks as he places a hand to my shoulder squating down to my eye level. "Why are you crying?"
I lift my hand and wipe my tear stained cheeks. "I talked to Granny. I have missed her so deeply and she was there Collin. I felt her warmth again. I heard her voice."
"What did she tell you?" he asks. His eyes conveying the underline question he won't ask aloud.
"Nothing," I say shaking my head in response to both questions.
"Okay," he sighs heavily. "Well everyone is waiting in the room for us. Even Blood Moon's Alpha family and Beta have arrived. Although I don't think we will all fit with all of the things Luna Maggie has brought in, but lets head in shall we?"
"Let's," I smile at him standing to my feet. For now I decide to keep what Granny said to me a secret until I can figure out exactly what it is we are to deal with. Although her words gave me comfort, my gut tells me we have a long road ahead. One with a lot of loss and pain. I just hope we can all endure.
Adrian P.O.V.
After two hours we finally breathe a sigh of relief. Two hours of worrying, stressing, and pacing. Mom has threatened to break my legs if I didn't stay still, and told the medical staff she would do the same to anyone who helped me.
I have wanted to walk out and find any kind of relief I could.A cigarette, a beer, a shot. Hell, a joint. Instead I stayed, waiting not so patiently. Every little thing causing me to flinch in rage. From the nurse who couldn't put the blood pressure cup on correctly to the Anestegiologist who was so terrified of my aura he was not able to calm his trembling body.
"Adrian Oliver Rowland if you don't calm that Lycan of yours down so the damn doctors can work, you and me are going to have a big problem," she growls lowly at me.
"Ma, really my full government though? Never know who the ops maybe around here. I have hunters on my ass," I joke quietly.
"f**k an ops. I'm going to be on your ass in a second if you don't sit down and calm your damn nerves," she glares at me.
I quietly walk over to the wall and lean into it. I maybe Prince of Lycans and wolves, but one thing for certain I will not take a chance with her. She would kill me in a heartbeat and tell me she has the right. 'I brought you in this world I can take your ass out. And don't run cause I won't chase you. I'll just put a bullet in your ass.' Her favorite lines while I was growing up. My friends called her mom and she even put the fear of Maxine in them as well. There was never a time I could miss curfew or do anything reckless. If I turned my phone off, she would call one of my boys to get me home. Jermaine was the biggest and tallest of us all, but when she call you would sear he was the size of an imp. He made sure we were at my house in ten minutes flat no matter where we were coming from. The sad thing is he would never step out of the car. He would drop me off and leave the moment the passenger door closed or before mom had time to open the front door.
"I'm good ma. I just wish these people would hurry up," I sneered glaring at the Doctors.
"They can't move any faster son. And why are you whispering? I can barely hear you," she says sitting back into her chair.
"I'm not whispering," I reply before raising my voice. "I CAN'T WALK AROUND YELLING ALL DAY."
"Boy shout at me again and you will lose that damn tongue of yours. See if your mate will enjoy it ever again in her life," she says sitting up as if she is ready to jump out the seat. "Bet your wolf can't heal that shit."
I shake my head and chuckle.
"Adrian?" I hear a whisper of my name. I freeze momentarily before rushing to her bedside brushing the nurse out of my way. I place her hand in mine feeling her warmth letting her know that I am here.
"Hey baby how are you feeling?" Mom asks sweetly as she stands next to me.
"I'm fine mom," She replies as I help her to sit up slowly. "How are they?
"Sound asleep," I say glancing over to the pups who are sound asleep across the room.
"Water," she states just as the attending nurse fills a glass and passes it to her.
"Your vitals are good, and so is the pup's. Be sure to call me if you need any assistance." The Doctor says. She bows slightly before exiting the room followed by her team of nurses.
"Where's everyone else?" she asks.
"They are just outside. They should be in in a moment. Do you need anything before they come in?" Mom asks.
"No. Just want to hold my baby before they enter." she says. Mom walks over and picks up the baby. "Here you are honey. Be careful.
I watch in awe of the beauty in front of me, before the door is thrown open and the room become crowded with people. Luna Maggie comes in followed by the Triplets and Former Alpha James, who are all carrying a tone of boxes. Beta Jonathan seems to be struggling with the bags on his arms.
"Don't mind them dear. They can handle all of it." Luna Maggie says as she walks over to us. "Oh my so precious. Have you decided on a name yet?"
I look over to my beautiful mate and daughter. My smile beaming as I watch the peacefulness in their bodies.
"Yes," I reply as every joins us in the room.
"Her name is Aniya Maria Rowland." Kourtnei states smiling at our beautiful baby girl.
