As Alicia got situated behind the counter of The Olde Country Store, Madame Lawrence readied herself with winter garments. Alicia commented that she had never worked in retail before or been behind a cash register. Madam Lawrence assured her she would do a fine job. "Thank you, my dear, for agreeing to watch the store for me today on such short notice. I simply must visit my cousin in East Corinth. She has not been feeling well lately and I am quite overdue for a visit," Madam Lawrence lied. "Do not forget there is a batch of corn muffins baking in the oven. Charge whatever you think is reasonable based on how they taste today." "I'm sure your visit will cheer your cousin up," Alicia told her as Madam Lawrence exited the store carrying a basket of goodies that seemed just right
