Chapter 3 Take me away, honey.

Liya’s POV School Ding-Ding- I could hear the glory bells setting off in my ears as I had rushed into the classroom. I was a sweating, panting mess but I didn't care, I was just glad I made it just in time. I wished I had not rushed in so blindly because I had ended up colliding with Connor. His icy blue orbs that had once lit up in excitement at seeing me, almost immediately darkened when I noticed Tiffany slithering around him while twirling her brunette locks between her fingers. My eye twitched at the mere sight of Tiffany and I was just seconds away from sneezing at her obnoxious perfume. I had no idea why she loved such heavy perfume but I definitely knew it was more irritating than disgusting. "Damn it!" I heard Connor mutter a curse word underneath his breath before taking a step away from me. He was the Alpha heir of a neighboring pack that had allied with Wade's pack and a heartthrob for many girls. His beach blond hair that had wavy tendrils graze his forehead and icy blue eyes, along with a defined jawline was worth swooning over. Sadly, he belonged to me and it was a secret that has existed between the both of us for about a year. “Connor… you certainly don't want this filth rubbing off on you, do you? You don't want to be the guardian angel of this slut, do you?” Her sultry voice purred as she slid her finger down his chest. Oh how ironic coming from a very famous slut! Talk about hypocrisy at its peak. My eyes twitched yet again at the sight and so did Connor's. He was a germaphobe, who was extremely cautious of how he was touched, but apparently Tiffany wasn't getting the message and it was irritating me. “Hey, hey, hey… looky what we have here.” My blood froze when I heard approaching steps accompany that awfully familiar baritone. I didn't need to look up to know it was them. They towered over me before moving towards Connor, “what's in your arms, Connor?” Connor arched a brow at them, “do I look like I'm hugging her? I don't like getting myself stained with dirt and you know that.” I peeked at them through my lashes, battling the heartbreak I was currently experiencing. I hadn't expected Connor to say that and it definitely stabbed my heart to see no iota of care no regret etched on his features. “It doesn't look like it.” Gunter sneered, eyeing me like I was garbage drenched in mud. Connor didn't need them to say more. The triplets were known to be very domineering, intimidating and dominating. Their father's hierarchy only added to their ego… so going against them was never a good decision. Especially Connor, his father and the triplets' father are allies on the surface, but in reality, he is constantly suppressed. He cannot afford to offend the triplets, as it would bring catastrophic consequences to his pack. I know it, I understand it, although it really pains me. Afraid of putting Connor in a difficult position, I immediately signaled him with my eyes to quickly push me away. Casting a cold gaze down at me, Connor shoved me as hard as he could and I whimpered in pain when I stumbled backwards and my head collided with the wall behind me, making my head spin. I was yet to recover from the effect of the collision when the teacher walked into the classroom, making everyone shuffle towards their seat. The teacher arched a brow at the sight of me crawling towards my seat that was on the second row, because I couldn't stand up. "Liya, if you're sick, just go home and never come to school again," the teacher threatened me with a cold tone. The classmates in the classroom echoed, "Yeah! People like her shouldn't be in our class!" I endured the pain, biting my lip to hold back the tears. No one helped me, so I stood up on my own and returned to my seat. I turned when I felt a tap on my shoulder, sniffling at the raven-haired girl that passed me a piece of paper with a blank look on her face. I collected it and gently began unfolding it with shaky hands, wondering what new insult it contained. But my eyes widened in confusion when I saw Connor’s neat writing. [ I'm really sorry, I had to do it. Please don't remain mad at me and meet me behind the cafeteria after school, I have somewhere I want to take you tonight… I love you. ] The corners of my lips lifted slightly. Of course, I knew he loved me. I never blamed him; the ones at fault were those three bastards! Ding-Ding Soon, in my anxious anticipation, the school bell rang, echoing through the vast space. “Times up.” The Teacher's stern tone had everyone groaning, with the exception of myself. I had finished a few minutes earlier. The teacher began going around, collecting the scripts and when he got to my turn, I handed it to him, grabbed my bag and walked away as fast as I could, eager to get away from the gazes that bore into the back of my head. I scurried down to the back of the cafeteria, wedging myself in the little space Connor and I used to hang out in school. After a few minutes, he appeared with a guilty look on his face and immediately threw me into his arms, apologizing over and over to me, "I'm sorry, baby! I still can't protect you!" His hoodie muffled my cries and his warmth offered me great comfort. “Let's go, baby.” He kissed my forehead and led me into his car. Silence dominated the car as we drove. I had my head leaned against the window, letting the breeze run through my hair, enjoying the soft music playing through the radio. I caught sight of trees lined up, the familiar smell of ocean breeze wafting through my nose. Connor parked in a empty space and got out of the car. He jerked my car door open and I quietly slipped out. He pulled me into his arms, planting a kiss on my head as he led me towards a burger stand. We ordered two burgers and moved towards another stand to order two chocolate milk smoothies. He took my hand in his and led me closer to the waters, and I could tell he was struggling to find the right words to say. I detached my hand from his and lowered myself onto the wet sand with a sigh. Connor sat beside me, tilting my head to lean on his chest. I had no idea when I let a tear slide down my cheeks, “I hate them so much, I just want to get away from here. I can't stand them.” Connor sighed and leaned into me, “I'm more with them than you are, and their f**k buddy, that f*****g Tiffany. I envision myself wringing their f*****g necks.” I shook my head negatively at him because I could feel his rage bubbling to the surface, “No, Don't do that. I just want to leave this shitty land. Take me away, honey.” Not long ago, Connor told me that he wanted to leave with me. He expressed his exhaustion at having to fake his actions just to maintain a position of power. We both decided to leave tomorrow evening. "Of course, my dear. I haven't forgotten our vows. Everything is ready! We're about to start a new life!" His commitment instantly reassured my heart. I smiled and nodded, making the same promise, “Uh-huh! Let's go start a new life!”
