Chapter 5
(B.J.'s Point of View)
"Poppy's your Mate, isn't she?" Amelia said, and I nodded my head to say that she was. "How could you treat your soulmate like that? I bet you f****d that slut right after you realized Poppy was your soulmate, didn't you?" Amelia said, and I stayed silent. Just thinking about what I did with Krystal in the car made me feel dirty. Just thinking about any other woman I had f****d before meeting Poppy made me feel sick to my stomach.
"You don't deserve Poppy as your soulmate," Amelia said before she walked out of my room. I knew she was right. I didn't deserve my soulmate. I was so stupid thinking I could live without my soulmate. After meeting her today, she was the only thing I thought of. At that moment, I knew I wouldn't be able to live without my soulmate.
I frowned, thinking of how she would feel knowing I let Krystal suck my c**k after realizing she was my soulmate. I would have to prove to her that I had changed and only wanted her because that was the truth. Poppy was it for me. I promised myself that I would win Poppy's trust and heart. She would be mine just like I was hers.
**************************
I woke up the next morning and got ready for college. I missed the first day because I was too tired to go after partying the night prior. I went to Purdue University with my twin sister and my soulmate. My sister and I are part owners of our family business, Mitchell's INC. I will be taking over for my father once I finish college.
Once I was finished getting ready, I went into the kitchen to get something to eat. My parents, Amelia and little sister Alicia, were sitting at the table, already eating. My parents looked at me when I sat at the table and started making my plate of pancakes, eggs, bacon, and sausage.
"Amelia, can we talk, please?" I asked.
"Well, since you asked nicely, I guess we can talk," Amelia replied and got up from the table and left the room.
"I wanted to tell you that I am sorry for how I reacted when I realized Poppy was my soulmate. You know I have never wanted a soulmate. I guess I was just shocked. I wish I could change my actions from yesterday, but I can't. All I can do is show Poppy how much she means to me," I said.
"Wait, you are planning to be with Poppy? You accept her as your soulmate?" Amelia squealed.
"Yeah, I can't stop thinking about her. She is the only woman I want," I replied, and Amelia started squealing again.
"This is so great. That means Poppy is going to be my sister. Wait, you aren't planning on breaking her heart, are you? If you hurt her, I will hurt you," Amelia replied.
"I will hurt myself if I even think about hurting Poppy," I replied. Amelia looked at me for a moment and nodded when she noticed I was being Sincere.
"Okay, I believe you. Now I have to go pick up your soulmate and her little sister," Amelia said.
"You are picking her up?" I asked.
"Yeah, her car broke down, and Joe is working on it," Amelia said.
"That old Honda is my soulmate's car?" I asked.
"Yeah, it wouldn't start when we were leaving school," Amelia replied. I didn't like thinking of my soulmate driving that old car. It was not safe for her. "Anyway, I had better go because Lilly has to make it to school on time, or Poppy might lose her," Amelia added.
"What do you mean she might lose her?" I asked, and Amelia looked at me for a moment silently.
"Oh, yeah. You don't know," Amelia said.
"Know what?" I asked, and Amelia told me how Poppy and her sister were raised in Foster Care, and when Poppy turned eighteen, she went to court to get custody of her sister. It showed that my Mate loved her little sister.
I didn't like that they lived in foster care. I was sure she and her little sister had been through a lot.
"I will ride with you to get them," I said, and Amelia was silent for a moment before replying.
"Okay, but remember what I said. Don't hurt her," Amelia said.
"I promise I won't," I replied, and we walked back into the kitchen.
"We are leaving now to pick up Poppy and her sister," Amelia said to our parents.
"You are going too?" My dad asked. I could tell he was surprised by his facial expression.
"Yes, I am," I replied.
"I am so happy. You better treat her right," My mom said as she got up from her chair and hugged me.
"I promise I will," I replied.
"You will win her heart, son. Don't worry," my mom said.
Amelia and I left after saying goodbye to our parents and Alicia, and headed to Poppy's house. On the way to Poppy's house, all I could think about was my soulmate and how I would win her trust and heart.
