So, belatedly, I turned my own flashlight on, too, and shone it around. I’ve been to Shenandoah Caverns on a family vacation back when I was a little kid (no Bianca, you weren’t there, you’d already left us before that), and though I don’t remember a lot about it, I know what the inside of a cave looks like. Rock walls, maybe some embedded minerals in the rock glowing back in the light. Stalactites and stalagmites, probably not close to the entrance, but a little further on. Of course, since this wasn’t a tourist attraction, it wouldn’t look as perfectly neat as the one in Virginia. Probably not as big, either. This was, like, a room.
