Chapter 2The sun had set by the time Chandler arrived at CI headquarters, but it didn’t exactly matter. The first-floor foyer was still brightly lit thanks to the many neon signs of the businesses stretched along the downtown street.
The front desk clerk, a tall man with broad shoulders named Manny, looked up and smiled the moment Chandler stepped inside. “Hi, Mr. Ford. How are you doing this evening?”
“Fine,” he answered curtly. “Is Elroy in?”
Manny glanced down at his computer screen. He pressed his lips together in a tight, but disappointed smile. “No. He seems to have just left for the night. Is there something I can help you with?”
Damn. Chandler held back his disappointment. He’d been sure that Elroy wanted to have a meeting with him to give him the new shipment. Apparently, this
